Random Arena - rez signet never used?
AmbientMelody
What I propose:
I. Rez signet is an 8th skill slot on every skill bar in RA, it can by replaced only by other rez skill (II. for exceptions)
II. Monks and Rits have the ability to swap the rez skill with defensive/passive skill, affecting the caster and/or another allies in area/target ally
III. When a player in RA on your team dies, you get a text notification in bold letters in middle of the screen and a 10 seconds countdown
IV. When the 10 seconds countdown reaches 0, all non-resurrection skills get disabled
V. Each dead party member has separate cooldown, but they are not additive (second cooldown won't start until either second or first dead guy is resurrected first)
VI. Each failed attempt to resurrect a member (interrupted rez skill/shut down skill bar) gives another 8 seconds to the countdown and makes the entire skillbar of every member able to use again till the refreshed timer drops to 0(number of seconds subject to change)
VII. All of the above (except for skillbar with which you entered) doesn't apply in 'kill count' RA battles, where you get resurrected automatically
VIII. I consider banning weird or pve-oriented resurrection skills such as 'rebirth' or 'life restore' (bye bye paladin! lol) altogether from RA
pros:
- pvp newbies are bluntly told that they are expected to res people on their team, otherwise (most of the time), in a given situation, they are useless to the team
- the team which gets early initiative with first kill can use the countdown system to their advantage, knowing that sooner or later their enemies will be forced to res or they will die ... it also means faster and more dynamic fights, and hopefully more well-thought skillbars of the average player
cons:
- in a case of players not acting like a cohesive body but overextending all over the map, the team which gets first kill can shamelessly vanquish entire enemy team if they just keep enemies away/snared from the corpses
- many balancing issues which will arise (the system likely needs tweaking)
Discuss.

Realize that random arenas is populated by noobcakes and take it at face value and not seriously and stop expecting to get wins there.
it's random arena wins are not determined by skill or skills just on what side gits the most clueless people.

So instead of making a suggestion, you made a creative QQ topic about people not playing smart in RA? Seriously, if people annoy you that much in RA, then play TA, HA, GvG, or AB (with people you know). I agree people are stupid about certain things, but that doesn't mean the game needs to be changed over it. And your idea (which I don't feel you really meant as a proposal to Anet) would not help anyone out.

/signed for the first 2
/notsigned for others. Although the text part of rule 3 would be very nice since sometimes you get caught up in trying to spike down a monk and time their guardians/stances correctly, and forget to check your party.
I would love a death warning. But for goodness sakes don't disable other skills! That would be taken advantage of!

That's just retarded. Big bold letters popping up in the middle of my screen, and then my skills being disabled because some faggot of an assassin decided to chase a hammer warrior halfway around the map only to get his shit handed to him?
No thank you.

Welcome to Random Arenas.
You're lucky even some people bring a res sig.
By entering the Random Arena, you're risking having 3 55 monks on your team alongside you, or having the 3 best frontliners in Gw.
While you're at it, ban all paragons from RA, and anything except a monk healer. And only R/A's are allowed to Melee, so ban sins/dervs/warriors. And give everyone a set bar, that way you'll never even need a res sig, you will win every time.

I doubt they would bother using res sig even if they hadit on their bar, actualy some of them do carry it on their bar, but they refuse to res anyone untill they are the last one alive and have 5 health left.
And I agree with Jiggles, if some guy is just being terrible/an ass I would rather save my res sig for someone more important. If we res the greifer hes only going to die/be an ass again, so why bother?

Putting restrictions on Random Arena would be pushing it away from being Random though, wouldn't it?
If you're fed up with your teammates' poor playstyle in RA, it's time to move on to some better PvP, not complain about the terrible situation that doesn't have a solid or clear fix.

/notsigned, its RANDOM for a reason, dont get mad over non ressy users, half the time they dont know what they are doing or they purposly didnt bring one for other reasons unsure/unknown.

I lolled, this is stupid. Yes i carry res and use it, but 9/10 if your whole team needs a res, you're ****ed anyway.
Twin Blade Warriror
or how about instead of making this thread, u leave your house and do something else for a week
i carry rez sig, but i got over ppl who dont rez like 2 years ago..just get over it

The funny thing in RA as I see more people use hard-res than signets when someone dies. People think they can kill that monk with just one more dmg chain, most of the time it never works and they start blaming others when the rest of the team is wiped. Making people have a skill that they'll never use doesn't help the problem.

This isn't to say that there weren't some ragers that would snap on anyone for the smallest slight, but they were few and far between. They just didn't hang around long in that arena. But as soon as the carrot of the gladiator's title was dangled in front of everyone, these folks had a reason to come back and stay and the arena has turned into what it has been for the past 3 years.

/notsigned. Forcing players to play in a certain way and pushing RA away from the randomness it has now is bad.
Lakdav
So you want to make RA more complicated so that the newbies wont learn the importance of the res sig themselves? If you force something, especialy if it was not there from the begining, it is bad. It also makes RA way too complicated to be the 1st arena newbies have access to.
I have a better advice: If you are sure you just teamed up with a newbie who didnt bring res, after you loose becouse of this, talk(whisper) to him, see if he is indeed a newbie who just didnt understand. If so, explain him the usefulnes of res, be helpful and patient. If he is an a**hole with nothing better to say than 'STFO' laugh at him, cuz he will never get much further than RA in GW, nor in the real life.
/sarcasm on
Or call him a f**king noob who should hang himself for not bringing a res. That will certanly teach him to respect the more experienced players.
/sarcasm off

This is a terrible, terrible idea, so much so that I kind of thought you were trolling at first.

(I'd rather we just got rid of the whole "dishonorable for leaving" thing.)

It's not all about them not bringing a res sig, it's about them not using it. A lot of the time when a team mate dies, the response is either slow or absent.
I support the suggestion that would notify a player if a team mate has died. "A team member has fallen!" Would hopefully grab the attention of players who are usually too caught up in attacking. Maybe even make the players res skills start flashing, alerting the player of a fallen team member and would only stop until that player is revived.
The other suggestions though I don't support.

so............ what happens when i have on my team a dervish a warrior a sin and a monk,my team manages to kill 2 of the opponents, 1 of the opponent kills my monk but my team immediatly kill him, and the only opponent left is a Ele earth tank with no attacks at all?
Do i as the sin with interrupt leave the earth tank enemy, just to res my dead monk to stand there and not be of any use at all, because all he can do is wand.

Forcing people to res a bad player when the other 2 are good is a bad idea. Forcing someone to res a player that already has 30% dp is a bad idea.
MagmaRed
The new form of griefing would be EASY.
Awaken the Blood + Blood Is Power
Rez me or you're screwed... and the team is 1 person short with no rez available for the 3 still trying to win. Yep, that sounds like fun.

You do this an one at all will bring res in RA as if AB didn't hinder it.This why no one wants to use res in pve anymore.
McMullen
Some people really don't deserve to be rez'd. I can think of a few times where I've saved my sig for someone who actually benefits the team.
eyekwah2
Knowing when to use the res sig is part of being a good player. If your team doesn't use it on you, either your team sucks or it's just you.
Bodock
RA, is full of newbs who only want to learn how to PVP and douches that hate those newbs, so what does it matter?

@ MagmaRed
I didn't make a 'creative QQ thread', quite the opposite. I'm not pissed at these people, but I'm looking for solution. Truth is, all successful tutelage is based on an easy system - punish for doing wrong, reward for doing well. It's also based on information and highlighting important events taking place, so you (as a newb) has actually some kind of motivation to do X thing Y way, instead of flaming back at a frustrated player who just tried to give you advice, but it turned out 'he tells me how to play the ****ing game !? I will play it like I want!'. Too bad with such attitude they never get past RA, HB and AB due to their social and cooperation inability to play with other people with common set of goals.
@ Rest
Tbh, if the RA was actually a more laid-back and 'tutelage' arena, there wouldn't be a problem cuz nobody would grief on the noobs and wouldn't take the arena too seriously. But atm, even if it's random, it's competitive - what means unforgiving. So for god's sake of improving gameplay for everyone, some rules must be set - especially because team creation is so random.
To tip it off, I expected something more from few posters in this thread, like pointing out possible suggestions and improvements instead of typical 'gtfo', but looks like it's too much to ask. So, like you see, it's You who made this topic a QQ thread.
It's very easy to criticise someone's ideas, but it's way harder to actually submit something useful yourself and participate in the discussion in a constructive way. Before you write an useless or negative post, think of that. Thank you very much.

I dont know, i kind of like the easy short matches against teams with people that arent smart enuff to rez in RA
