is it possible to upgrade a sword found in the factions campaign with mods?
i no you cant do shields but not sure whether the same applies to swords

You can upgrade them with hilts and pommels to make a sword into a Sundering XXX of Fortitude.

You can change everything but the inherent mod (15^50).

End chest items from Urgoz and the Deep come with an inscription slot too though.

To clarify what people have said before me:

Yes, you CAN upgrade your sword from Factions.
It has to be with a hilt and/or a pommel though, if you didn't get your sword from an endgame area.
The sword will say "Inscription:" somewhere on it if you can upgrade it with an inscription.
