Yeah, so pretty much everyone in my guild disconnected a few minutes ago. The pirate event info is gone from the login screen, but wasn't it supposed to run until tomorrow? And apparently grog isn't dropping now either.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hey, wait.....I just remembered something.
Does anyone remember when NCSoft (or Anet) laid off all those guys in Austin? Isn't Austin where they house the game servers...or at least some of them?
Maybe those guys getting laid off has something to do with all the server problems lately. Oh, and for the love of sweet zombie Jesus, no one come here and blame our computers. I use PingPlotter regularly, and it's only been my ISP's fault 1 time....out of like 90.

Same here wonderful connection all weekend and I leave my game on all the time. I got over 250 grogs too. Must be you guys crappy ISP's or computers. You should get a driver detector and see how many of your pieces of hardware are out of date. I used to think just because I downloaded video and sound drivers I was uptodate. Wow I never saw so many drivers before in my life when I used the Driver Detective called "Driver Robot" and after updating all of them I haven't had any issues since.

Why not? You automatically assume it's anything but you or your system?

Having said that, its not necessarily Anet's fault either, it could be a malfunctioning router somewhere in between, a bad routing table, a flapping router port (yes, that is a technical term) and a few other things.
I've not had much of a problem myself but there are occasions when there are lag spikes and I'm quite sure the problem is not on my end.
