This really blows my mind. People whine abour MoR and so it gets changed a week later. People have whined for years about SF and still nothing is done. It is just as simple as nerfing the god damn skill out of existance, it should not exist. People are able to run ELITE DUNGEONS ON ONE CHARACTER. Argh, if people are so bad as to really quit the game if it gets nerfed then good ridance, I don't want these skill-less failures in the game anyway.
Obviously the MoR nerf tells us one thing. Whine and you will recieve. |
However in SF argument there are a lot of people on either side of the debate.

There were a few eg the people who were decent enough at the game to not need a blanket NO INTERUPTZ LOL skill.

*sigh*
They nerf it : 'OMG, BASTARDZ HOW CULD THEY NERF MA PRECIOUS MoR? REVERT IT NOWZ, I DEMAND!' because the change wasn't intended to affect PvE, they split the skill, and then we get: 'Well done Anet. Nice job. Now make sure you revert SF after you nerf it.' *double sigh* |
~LeNa~
If that happens I will officially uninstall the game and declare it as a broken, unbalanced, item grinder-game with a QQ fest of PvP dashed in for zazz.

It would be interesting to learn where ANet got the idea to change MoR back. Was it from whiners on forums? Was it the feedback thing on the wiki? Or did they just realize afterward they had made a mistake?
If their new policy about openness includes listening to players, this could be a step in the right (or wrong, depending on who they listen to) direction.

Just before Halloween/Wintersday SF will get nerfed only to be unnerfed the week after the event, mark my words
|
Then again A.net rarely lives up to what they say so you have a chance of being right I suppose.

While the change was very obvious to anyone who was familiar with farming, A.net obviously didn't think it was that large of an issue because they don't spend as much time playing the game as you do.

if you don't like it, don't do it. do farmers get stronger weapons? do farmers get armors with higher rating than you?
i'm not a farmer myself, i'm fed up with grind and i value gw because you don't have to farm if you don't want to. so why does anyone care about other people farming 24/7? cause they've got five obsidian armors? so what, does it make them better, stronger, unkillable? they waste their own time and eyes, not yours. go get a clue. |
And not only that, we only seem to have a limited window of opportunity to get them.
Which basically means we need to be be able to get tons of money, and get it fast.
And then, there is also the problem of the GW goals being "balanced" with massive farming in mind. Certain goals just aren't obtainable otherwise. And THAT makes farming mandatory!
This isn't like old Ursan or something, where one could complete all areas in an reasonable amount of time even without Ursan. Don't like it, don't use it kinda made sense there. The game wasn't balanced around Ursan, so you could actually disregard it and not bring it into your instance.
I know I did.
There is no reasonable alternative to farming in the game if you want the goals that are balanced with farming in mind. You don't open 10k chests or ID 10k gold items by "playing" the game.
Or max out Lucky/Unlucky.
Or do sweets. Booze. Party.
If one wants to go after those titles - one needs to farm.
There is no way around it.
Seriously, farming IS a huge part of PvE these days.
And as crazy as this sounds - if you don't farm, that means you just aren't experiencing the complete PvE "content".
(And YES, I FULLY agree that PvE would be much better off without this "content".)
