Hi I've been looking to build a tiny computer (ITX to be specific) because i need a desktop but don't like how big they are as it makes it hard to carry around. I've been looking at the intel atom platform so i can build a very SFF computer.

I want to know if i can play guild wars on high everything no aa/af and a resolution of 1280 x 800/1024 getting 60FPS, I'm looking at a board with the Nvidia Ion which has a Geforce 9400m onboard and install 2Gb of ram (unless I can get 4Gb for some insane price, and the 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Processor. i have the aluminum macbook with the 9400m and 2.0Ghz C2D 2Gb ram and I get 60fps at 1280x800 np I can get about 40fps (in town) with a res of 1920x1200.

So I would like to know your opinions on get nice frames with a 1.6Ghz Intel atom, 2GB ram and a the ION chipset (G9400m), and what would be the performance difference if i get 4gb of ram and/or a dual core atom. thanks

the intel atom is about as powerful as a pentium III, so it's going to seriously castrate the performance of your system.

there are ITX motherboards out there that will support socket 775, so you can use a standard core 2 processor. that should give you everything you need.

this is what i'm talking about:

a ITX motherboard that will take a standard intel core 2 duo/quad processor.

Moriz is right the INtel Atom is sufficient for wimpy netbooks and nothing more, get any core duo or above though and you're fine for what you want to do...

you can use a atom motherboard with the nvidia chipset to play guild wars.
medium @ 1600*1050 works, but its better to get an mini-itx motherboard with an AM2 of 775 socket.

Ion will play GW at semi decent settings (given that you aren't expecting 1920x1200 resolution)

Ion can fully accelerate 1920x1200 BluRay/HD playback, but that doesn't mean it can actively render at those resolutions. But, really, it comes down to Intel's ATOM CPUs being garbage... they need to improve them dramatically.
