The Araiia Commemorative Art Contest

Due to her sudden departure from our beloved Nolani Art Forums, Araiia of the Songs has left us with a large gap in side our hearts.

To commemorate her unique style and place in the forums, I have decided to hold a contest in her memory. This is NOT a joke, and trolling will NOT be tolerated. I will personally report all troll posts to hopefully get them deleted.


The premise is simple: draw a character (preferably female, in memory of Araiia), in her style. At the end of the contest, I shall judge which piece of art most approaches the spirit of Araiia.

Since I'm actually not very wealthy, I wont have second or third prizes, although they will be mentioned. First place will get 100k from me, and 100k from YSJ, who will also sponsor this contest. There may be more prizes coming in as I search through my contacts.

Any sort of media is fine, but you WILL get bonus points for Araiia's choice mediums. If you need reference of her art, please go to her thread, and take a look.

Please DO NOT be scared to enter. The spirit of this contest is not to win $$$ (although that IS a valid motivation), but to show our support. We want to fill this thread up with Araiia fan art to show that we care. Oh and YSJ is eligible to enter, since he is not judging :P

Now now regardless if you liked her or not imo she was a big chunk of Nolani during her stay. I'd love to participate but unfortunately I have my obligations DDDDDD: Maybe I can offer a donation because I think this is a worthy cause.

I was actually thinking of closing this contest :\ Despite my attempts to ward them off, there were still some trolling. I guess the concept was flawed to begin with.

Oh well. Atleast we now know we might catch some glimpses of Araiia?

I know for sure I won't be taking part in commissions/anything involving money, which essentially puts me in the role of lurker/spectator.
