She is a former Jedi who, like all Jedi, was raised in the Temple from a young age. Her skill with the Force is not great, but she is an exceptional fighter, especially when it comes to lightsaber combat. She is in fact a bit of a snob about that, and refuses to use - or even carry - any sort of weapon other than her lightsaber. However, she is a very emotional person, prone to anger, frustration, worry, and fear, and she did not get along well with her Master. She became a Knight at the age of 19, though later discovered that she barely passed the Trials and there was debate as to whether she should be promoted or not.
Two years later, as her temper got increasingly worse, she wound up getting expelled from the Jedi Order. This, combined with a confrontation with her Master (and discovering she had nearly not become a Knight) caused her to snap, and she fell to the Dark Side. She fled Coruscant, winding up on Bespin, her home planet, intending to find out who her family was and why they had given her up. She had been followed by her former Master, her Master's Padawan, and another Jedi. A rather large fight ensued; the Master and Padawan both were killed, the other Jedi wounded, but Rianna was too badly injured and ran and hid.
These days she skulks around the galaxy with a small group of Dark Jedi, causing havoc and destruction everywhere they go, trying to grasp at bits of power without getting themselves caught.
When she was younger, as a Jedi, she wore normal brown Jedi robes and kept her hair cut short, about chin-length. As a Dark Jedi, she generally wears some sort of dark top, brown/tan pants and black boots, and nearly always is wearing a blood-red cloak. Her hair has grown to about mid-back-length and is worn in a loose braid.
