First, I'm not a computer guy at all. I'll need very simple minded help. D;
I somehow changed all of my EXE files to open through WinRAR. So, a guy on my ventrillo said to uninstall it, and restart my PC. I did so, and now I'm getting the error:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel."
I have no idea what I'm doing and don't wish to f-up. Any help would be awesome. Sorry if this is in the wrong section though. D;

Associations are found in the control panel/default programs dialog. Start, control panel...
Use "set program access and computer defaults".
reboot
Try this first and report back, windows vista I presume?

Yeah vista, I just solved my problem by discovering the f8 button on start up.

Something to bear in mind is that just about every computer problem you have has happened to someone else.
The answers are always out there, often I find just typing the problem as a question on a search engine and seeing what others did yields good results.
btw you can right click on a file select "open with" then browse to the program you want to use to open that file type.
Tick the box if you want to always use that program.

Yeah, but EXE files should just automatically start up when double-clicked. There is no program to associate an EXE file to, isn't there?
