Ghostly Appearence?

Hello my fellow Guild Wars players,

I'm interested in making a Guild Wars machinima. I know of a program called TextMod that edits the different textures of the interface and characters.

I'd like to know if it would be possible to give my character a ghostly appearance like the souls in the Crystal Desert and Underworld?

Thanks for the tips and tricks in advance

Ghostly Hero form from the zaishen tonic would be a pretty close option

There's also this ghostly form, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Champ...Balthazar_Form you can get from the same tonic.

But tonics are only available to be used in outposts and in cities, are they not?

EDIT: Also, that'd CHANGE the appearence of my character (as in from female to male) and wouldn't have the same armour, height, etc.

"Along with the Transmogrifier Tonic, the Yuletide Tonic and their everlasting counterparts, this is one of the only tonics that can be used in explorable areas."

This one is an exception.

Ah, you learn something new everyday

But this still doesn't solve my dilemma.

Oh, you're looking for this using TexMod.

Unfortunately, you cannot edit anything besides textures in the game. The only way you'd be able to change gender is to buy an extreme makeover kit from the GW store, which costs $10.

So I couldn't edit my character's skin colour to be transparent? I can't edit my characters armour to appear more 'ghostly'?

Zaishen tonics can also be used in explorable areas

What I meant to say was if I were to use a tonic it would give a female character a male appearance.

Yes it would, tonics change makes you change into whatever creature the tonics tunes you in, whether it be male or female.

I know. That's the problem. Still looking for a viable solution.

I don't think you understand. What I'm interpreting here is that the OP has a female character that he/she wants to use TexMod on to give a transparent model, like the Ghostly Hero has. He/she does not want to turn the character into the GH.

@OP, assuming what I'm interpreting is correct, I don't see a reason it wouldn't be possible. It would probably be really hard though. You'd need to get a TexMod to cover each different texture on your character. Thats probably each piece of armor, skin, hair, etc. You'd need to find someone that could make it too.

Yeah, I got that after I reread the OP

Thanks, Silverblade, for understanding what I'm trying to imply! In that case, I'll fool around with it and if I can't get it then I'm sure someone on Guru might be able to help me out

TexMod just isn't advanced enough yet. Unless we get to polygon swapping this will not be possible, most textures aren't set up in GW to have a transparency channel anyway and when you find one its usually a cape and not a character.

Male warrior with droks pigmail armor can use Rastigans armor from FoW and become ghostly. Other then that not much else you can do. You can't change models.

you could try repainting ur characters entire armor and skin textures to look ghostly, but this would require a little bit of talent :P

I'm attempting to do this actually. I'm having some troubles with TexMod at the moment, it won't let me make a new build.

I'm going to improve this, of course. I just wanted to show that it is possible to become a ghost

That doesn't look perfect but it certainly looks a lot better than I thought it would, nice job

Actually that does look pretty good, haha..keep up the experimenting, forgot how fun Texmod was.

If I do may ask though, in those pictures, is your character's skin actually transparent? If so how the **** did you do that!? lol

It's more or less more of a glow than transparent. I'm still trying to play around with it. If I can get everything to be top notch, than I'll definitely post a howto in the community works forum

heres my attempt, not very good but only took 1-2 mins (most of it was finding the texture for the armour and the skin.

What I did (just incase anyone wants to try it, and improve it) :

opened texmod and entered logging mode
find the texture for the characters armour and save it, find the texture for the characters skin (the flesh) and save it
open the two skins in paint and invert colours
save the files
create the tpf file using texmod
and run the mod
