use balthazar points for title rewards.
Scary
Oke, just a sugestion,
we have the Z key reward in exchange for balthazar points, we can unlock
skills and upgrades and runes with balthazar points.
but would it be possible to make a system which you can exchange Balthazar
points for titles, it would give us a change to do something els than grinding
on the normal way. And you wouldn't get it for free.
And maybe it would stimulate people to do more PvP during the time they play.
For example,:
a 100 lightbringer points would cost U 5000 balthazar points.
5 wisdom points for 5000 points
5 sweet tooth for 5000 points
etc...

would make the game very imbalanced. PvP has already got a rewards system. The PvE titles are specifically for accomplishing PvE tasks.
However, I wouldn't object to balth faction being exchanged for physical items like booze, sweets, or other tangibles at a fair exchange rate, so at least titles like party animal, sweet tooth etc could be acquired.
But as you wouldn't have HoM access, there would be no benefit from it other than being able to display on your char, as titles confer benefits in GW2 and will only count when registered in HoM.

Short
No...But I wouldn't mind a title for handing in Balthazar in any way, it'd just be fun.

This, sweets and booze would be nice.

You can simply trade in Balthazar points for keys, sell them to the scrubs who buy that sort of thing, and use the gold to purchase the desired title items.

If this happened, then the reverse would have to happen. PvP titles for PvE. Oh look, I just perma sin'd Kathandrax in HM, Now I can show of my Phoenix rank! I am so pro!

So change Z keys. go shouting in GTOB or spammadan and hope for the best.
might be nicer to play directly for the things you want. Or am I mistaken

Its not that you should get rank emotes by PvE.. ask the charr that spam
the tiger.. that was kind of to see.
I just say, it would be nice if you play pvp and pve to change the B points
into pve title. And it might even get more people play pvp..
The 1 good argument I have seen is the one of HoM, indeed it would get
you advantage being a PvE player wiht a HoM account comparing to a
PvP player with no HoM account.
But at the other hand, this is already the case, most of the PvE players
have HoM with some titles, so being a PvP player only, that wouldn't change much.

I think we're forgetting that titles are meant as a recognition that you did something.
Legendary Cartographer, for example, means you went everywhere and saw everything. Legendary Skill Hunter means you acquired all elite skills.
You should not, for example, be able to get Holy Lightbringer by cashing in Balthazar points. Holy Lightbringer is the title that shows you killed a shitload of servants of Abaddon. You don't kill any servants of Abaddon in PvP. Same with Legendary Spearmarshal. The Sunspears don't care what you were doing off in the Battle Isles, they care what you were doing to help them in Elona.
I know most people don't give a shit what the titles themselves actually mean, but reducing them even further in this way would be another unpleasant step in a direction I don't think the game should go.

What do PvP battles have anything to do with PvE titles?
Nothing. Bad idea.

That would cmpletely defeat the purpose of many of those titles.
If you want sweet tooth points from Balthazat points, you exchange them for keys, then the keys for gold, and then the gold for sweets.
As for plot titles like Lightbringer, well, you MUST go through the plot and kill stuff or make quests to get them.

As do I.
As for the idea itself, I find myself torn. On the one hand, I feel like this would be a terrible idea for titles like drunkard, which have no in-game effect and exist only to show off. Making these titles easier to get is a bad idea, because it diminishes their noteworthiness.
However, on the other hand, there are titles like lightbringer and kurzick/luxon which do offer mechanical benefits in-game. Some of them are minor, but others can be significant with the right skills (I'm looking at you, AoHM!). These titles take a long time to get if you're not a hardcore farmer, and one of the reasons farming is so rampant is because there's so much incentive to do so (these titles being one of them). Creating an alternative for these particular titles might be able to somewhat alleviate this. And honestly, I don't see how making these particular titles a little easier to get is bad (since they're not just for showing off; they actually make your character a little stronger).
But on my third, mutated hand which grows out of my left shoulder blade, I find I agree with Zahr that it doesn't make sense for the Order of Whispers to recognize you as a better lightbringer because you killed a bunch of luxons in AB.
This actually reminds me of an idea I had once to allow people to purchase faction/rep for titles that offer mechanical advantages (but not sweet tooth or other such titles) as a microtransaction so Anet could make more money and people who didn't want to grind could have their R10 Norn (for a high price, of course). I never bothered suggesting it, though, because I was sure the community wouldn't go for it (plus, I never really thought it was actually a good idea to begin with).
But anyway, by a vote of 2 hands out of 3, I have to render the verdict /notsigned.

While you're at it, make it so you can buy the points with cash, 1g per point.

This idea is complete nonsense.
Faction is already -> money and money -> many titles. No need for any direct title point exchanges, that's really dumb.
The only thing that should be done with balth faction is a new title that would be based on total balth faction gained on the account. The title should have no max.
Oh, and while at it, a rebalance of ZQuest faction rewards is needed, full faction for just the basic quest with no bonus is pretty ridiculous overfarm.

I think this is just title grubbing again. Titles are simply huge grinds introduced as a prestige element into GW by anet. We do not need another reason for people to abuse pvp for the purpose of farming B-points.
Just an idea, but i must disagree. Get the titles the old fashion way.
