I was looking at this weekends event and it says "Double Gold, Scroll, XP for vanquishing certain areas in Hard Mode"
So any idea or what these "certain areas" are going to be or is it going to be a crap shoot?

I'm guessing all the areas that are able to be vanquished, leaving out areas after the vortex in nightfall for example.

It applies to any area that counts toward the vanquisher title.

Well if you read it the words........Certain Areas..are in there it does not say all areas at all.
So its a confusing statement or is it the wording thats incorrect..just go out and hit one area if you dont get it then its certain areas lol

It means any area that counts towards the Vanquisher title tracks. This is what it's always meant.

So, suddenly, ANet doesn't like giving players faction boosts on vanquishing weekends, or is this another typo?

I think we've all learned by now that what is said on the login screen is not remotely what the event will be. However, the fact that they specifically took out faction rewards and named all the other bonuses in the title makes me wonder.

I'm pretty sure the double gold/XP from VQing is an entirely different weekend than double faction gain from xxx.
Either way, if faction isn't included, guess I'll be doing more general gameplay this weekend and faaaar less Vanquishing.

I bet they just copied the text from an older vanquish event. The events are pretty much on autopilot at this point, so I can't imagine this one actually being different than all the previous vanquish events, which IIRC all gave double title points.

imo different rewards such like factions, points towords lb/ss/asura/norn etc also would be doubled. pretty sure that they dont have any system to make a split to do double reward for xp/gold and normal rewards for factions.

Just vanquished Plains of Jarin, killed ~210 mobs, got 2k gold/exp/sunspear points (also ~1k sunspear points from the shrine hunts). So does appear to be doubled.

I did a vanq on Silent surf, took a luxon bounty and received 25.400 faction for completing the vanquish, thats excluding the faction i got from killing monsters.
Thats just insane, but i love it and going to do some more areas xD.

I shall follow your suggestion of silent surf. Mountain speed clear is for the weak and dishonorable. The green broadsword shall be a great addiction to my collection.
