Spending Gold
Veripare
I've been collecting quite a fair amount of gold recently and I'm wondering, what sort of things are useful/fun/practical to spend your hard earned gold on?
Marty Silverblade
Get a max set of armor first, then a max weapon, then mod them appropriately. After that you can spend on pretty much anything you like. Some people, such as myself, like to buy several armor and weapon sets so I can look good in any situation and have different rune/insignia sets. Other people like to buy art (look in the art forum on Guru), others like to collect old useless stuff that doesn't drop anymore, some people like minipets, some people like to get uber rare skins and stuff, some people work on titles, and some people just hoard ectos. It's up to you really, once you've got the equipment sorted. Keep a decent chunk of cash available at all times though in case you need to buy skills.
Horace Slughorn
I agree with Marty that you should unlock as many skills as possible, you never know when your team will need a certain skill or when it will be advantageous to you to have a large selection.

I'm pretty much a gold hoarder...I have a lot of money but I don't really know what to spend it on. I have like 700k sitting in storage, and my main ranger already fairly pimped out. I guess I spend most of my money on just randomness like helping other people out, buying random cheap things that suit my fancy, starting new characters, and sometimes buying some title items.
I would really just buy title items, or whatever you happen to like...along with the necessities like skills, armor, runes, and good weapons.

Don't forget about an everlasting tonic! These are pretty fun once in a while to pop into. Cost 100k+4e -> 250e

90% of the time I spend my gold on lockpicks or armor. Weapons can usually be farmed, so I never see a need to buy those.
If you plan on maxing Sweet tooth, Drunkard or Party Animal, you might want to spend some cash on those.

I agree with the above. Skills and equipment for your characters and heroes are the most important things to start with. Once you have these covered you'll find there are a variety of ways to make money.
As for the 100k a week. One easy way to make that is to farm feathers. You can easy make a stack in 30 or so mins and this sells for 10k.

It's easy to make money when new campaigns hit the scene. I mean when Factions came out, I just farmed Kanaxai and sell his sword for 100k++ for some time. When Nightfall came out I farmed Titan Gem Stones and sell them for 100k+ too untill they droped to 50k. You could actually make 500k a day by farming for 2-3 hours a day.. Those were the days.. Power trading can be profitable too, but it can get boring spaming WTS this, WTS that.
Anyway, I have hoarded up cash, ectos etc and I'm gonna spend them on easy titles (sweet and party etc) since I already got most of the items I need. I'm lucky on that aspect too because mymain account was hacked, but I had already moved most cash, ectos and braces on my 2nd account. All I lost was 2 FoW armors, and 12 kuunas(that hurt actually )

Spend money on characters to make more money? Power trade is another "wise thing" to do.
I am generally very picky with my money, even though I have a decent stash I never like to buy things I don't really need. I usually buy extra totem axes/ runes/ gear for farming characters.

Mostly useless but fun stuff:
-
Once you've bought all the functionality you need (max armour and runes, max weapons and components, skills etc..), everything else is purely for show/personal enjoyment.
- Titles ie: Zaishen Track, Sweet Tooth, etc..
- Elite Armours
- High End Weapons
- Everlasting Tonics
- Mini Pets
- Invest in Power Trade - make more money to spend on above
