This was really fun to work on. 
It's a pencil sketch I cropped and tweaked on my computer, featuring my monk and oldest character, Lady Alasse, as she was when she ascended oh so long ago. She's wearing standard Monk armor and carrying a dead bow. (Alasse used a bow all through the first three campaigns until I finally got over some of my noobishness and got her a staff at the end of Nightfall.)
Anyway, the idea behind this picture is the confrontation: being suddenly brought face-to-face with the darkness within herself. I really wanted to try to capture that moment. The way I see it, the final trial of ascension is really a test of the person's character, of his bravery and his capacity to look his own, personal evil in the eye, accept it, and defeat it himself, without any outside help. It would be a life-changing experience, and a victory on a much more personal and even painful level.

This is my submission. I'd like to also put a little description/backstory on it as well:
The image was drawn on posterboard, using a #2 pencil, an ultra fine point sharpie, and an 8 ct. box of colored pencils. The actual size of the drawing is roughly 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches. That proved to be tough when adding specific detail to the pictures. I also had to take a picture of it using a digital camera, as I do not have a scanner :/ but it's all good.
I made my submission comic-style, so that it would read left to right, up to down. I was going to cut it in half horizontally but decided to leave it together, therefore I numbered the scenes in order of which they should be read, otherwise it is very confusing.
The warrior is wearing 71 AL Amnoon Oasis Gladiator armor, and his weapons consist of a Wingblade Sword and a Defender. The Doppleganger is wielding an Eternal Bow in the beginning, because 'back in the day' when I used to ascend my characters, that's what he used - also another small detail to keep this thing as 'historically accurate' as possible.
All of these drawings in this comic were all based off of actual screenshots I took while repeating this mission over and over again to get as many different angled shots as possible. When I have the Doppleganger using Frenzy, which was one of the ways to kill him 'back in the day' not only did I write it above his head so that people would know, but I also drew the animation that went along with it - the text was due to the fact that not many people would know what the animation around him was for anyways

It felt pretty good to go into Amnoon and buy a full set of armor for around 4k - even though it wasn't max, it still brought back memories.The fact that I had to make other colors in this proved a challenge as well, as I only had the basic 8 pack Crayola colored pencils, I had to 'create' the gray for the warriors gladiator armor, as well as alot of the crimson and light brown colors used frequently throughout the comic strip. Thanks for giving us an opportunity to do this, this was very fun and very nostalgic.

Long time since I've posted here, but been lurking around every now and then. This contest really inspired me, since the doppelganger mission is the creepiest one in the game. I always saw the doppelganger as something that aspires to become your character. Kind of like take their place... the longer you fight them, the more they become like you, until they end up taking your place entirely.
