And from what I take from this, you are assuming GW1 will stop existing after GW2. This is not the case, possibly because of the including of the Hall of Monuments.

I might pop in from time to time, but if Guild Wars 2 is worth playing, that's where I will be.

While I still play now, it's just repetition, helping guildies, or playing in PvP areas.

Likely the last real task I will do in GW1 is ensure that any aspect that is transferable to GW2 is complete.

It's time to move on.

I'll wait the couple of days, play GW2, and leave everything else as it is.

I don't think I'll ever play again. That said I don't think GW2 will last long, especially if it still has 8 skill setups.

hmmmm, a loaded question. I have no doubt I will have everything tidied up by the time GW2 comes out. My HoM is almost full to my satisfaction and the only thing I really want to do is complete everything in HM at least once. I've done most of the hard stuff(Frostmaw is something I never want to do again..ever!) and so its mostly vanquishing. In the days before GW2 I think I'll spend alot of time in Ascalon, touring the areas that made me fall in love with the game. *sigh* I'll do Ruins of Surmia of course. ^_^ Rurik's QQing is epic.

I'll be the GW equivalent of Zack Allen. I'll take my now-less-of-a-newbie girlfriend on a tour of every outpost in the game, waxing nostalgic about the time Shadow took Glass arrows on his Volley build in the Archipelagos, or I forgot to switch out of my 55 armor to redbar Gate of Madness hard mode...

I will drink scotch and reminisce, and she'll listen because she has to.

When the Last Day draws to a close, and everyone in the city is gathering up with the GMs to /wave and screenshot (because we all know they will), I'll switch to Azani and slip away to the hill on the beach in North Kryta. There I'll turn to face the sea, screenshot, and wait for the disconnect as I face down the end of the world, alone.

And you will wait & wait & wait & nothing will happen.
Only then will you realise, that giving all your goods to that preacher back in Ascalon, who told you about the flame seaker prophesy and the near end of the world, was a bad idea, as he only wanted to scam you out of your p.

It's hard to say what my mindset will be when GW2 comes out. In all likelihood I'll still be playing GW1 and will give GW2 a try.

Only time will tell if GW2 can completely pull me away from GW1.

I think I will be somewhat sad too because I am not finished with GWs yet and don't want to see the GWs world become really empty.

I still have a lot to finish before I buy GWs2 and will will wait to buy unless I can add GWs2 to my account and then still complete things in GWs that I can add to GWs2 after the fact.

I will still be playing the original when Guild Wars 2 is out. Mainly because Guild Wars 2 won't fix anything.

I'm going to sear my perma-pre and take her on a run through Prophecies, old school style. No heros, waiting until I hit Droks to get max armor, it'll be just like the good old days... Except not.

I will probably still be playing it for all the time I put into it.I wouldn't mind keeping my account if in one the day the servers come down. This for a different subject but yes I would be popping on to form time to time as I am now playing PWI.

I think I'd download some food off the Internet for breakfast, then grab my hologram diary, climb onto the closest time bus and go back to the days when GW1 was still awesome.

I won't be buying GW2.
The prospect of a completely persistent gaming environment makes me wanna blow chunks.

Plus...have all three campaigns + EOTN, and I have yet to finish any of them with any of my characters.

Also, I have a perma-pre character, who will someday get Legendary Defender of Ascalon (or whatever that LV20-in-Pre title is), and he shall finally move to the later time, and be my God Among Mere Mortals (or whatever that title is).

I might bring my LDoA from presearing to the HoM & maybe sell my pre-searing Kuunavang. But I'm still undecided.

How do you not finish any of them? GW has been out for years lol on topic though i'll probably just save money to buy wat i need and want from people who quit GW1 put minis in HoM ect make a new char and go through factions (my first GW campaign ) then move on to GW2

1. Not EVER playing with other people aside from trades, on principle.

2. Not knowing about the Wiki for the first two of the four years I've been playing.

3. Going to college full-time for a semester before starting Prophecies, and every semester since.

4. Only being able to play at school (not during summer or christmas holidays) for the first two years of playing.

5. Deleting characters when they got boring (have two that have gone for 3 years...closest one to that is 1 1/2 years old).

6. Having a job.

7. Not taking the game any more seriously than any other game I've played.

8-50. Moving in w/ gf, her mom getting lung then brain cancer, my mom getting breast cancer, my mom recovering from breast cancer, her mom dying from brain cancer, marrying my gf......

So yeah. Bigger **** than GW's been going on in my life.

Plus...I got EOTN last week, and that'll be occupying more of my time than any of the campaigns, which at this point, even having never finished them, feel stale.

i like Kupp's idea, i guess i might create a new char in each campaign if i have any space, finish off the story someone's got half way through. use up any items (last few points towards drunkard e.t.c.) and join one of the many parties that might be happening.

I'll check in a week after the release and notice it's out, contemplate, look at bank account, look at the vehicle I'll be building at the time, and probably decide to get it just for kicks.

After reading some of the posts I have to disagree with some people. I think GW will still be strong as for many it has become a habit and will be a place to come back to. I also feel if GW2 lives up to the expectation new players will come into GW and give it a shot.

I do think a lot depends on how the HoM ties into GW2. If done correctly it could be a nice recruitment tool for GW2. I also have a feeling some nice new updates will take place in GW to make it appealing to play once GW2 comes out. One last Hurrah.

Given that GW will be linked with GW2, there would be no reason for you to do such things if you intend to play GW2.

Already done my HoM's and everything I feel compelled to in PvE. Might have a last month run at some titles on one of my warriors, but I doubt it. No point in deleting everything that I worked on for over 4 years.

I`ve yet to see what will GW2 be like. If everything goes well, little time will remain for GW1.
