I want one, cause i like them, but i quit my last one because every other profession does a dervishes job better than a dervish, they also never get into pugs cause warrs are preferred now. And every idiot and his brother runs avvy of balth

Has stuff changed, is it safe to make a dervish and not suck and be excluded from pugs?
edit: pve btw

Basically..no, nothing changed so far..assassins and warriors with scythe > dervish with scythe..:x that's why im considering having something else as my main...why have a char that can be outdone at it's own weapon

I don't join PuGs but i'm guessing people are still narrow minded that they only take the holy trinity classes. A derv can do anything a warrior can do, just as well - the only exception being d-slashing SY, but who cares.

I bet an orders derv would fit nicely in a physical heavy PuG too. But like I said, outside of speedclears people only want the team setup that's always worked, and don't want to try anything new. Personally when selecting a class, PuGs would be the last thing to help me decide, since they almost always fail.

Roll a dervish and play with H/H or guildies. It's a solid class; I have no regrets about rolling mine.

In general, yes, they're still outdone (there are a couple decent builds that aren't completely redundant, fortunately) by other professions. However, I've never had problems getting into PUGs with my dervish (either because there isn't anyone else available, or because PUGs don't realize that other classes are better, or because some PUGs figure someone who knowingly chooses a suboptimal class is probably skilled enough to compensate).

Are dervishes still out-done by other professions: Yes.
Are dervishes never get PUGs: No, the difference is so small that nearly noone cares.

Half the problem is Dervs and Paras (and to some extent outside farming sins and rits) were never part of the origonal game and people just found ways to use the 5 basic professions.

I know it's not great, but I think why should I have a para (i know we on about dervs but it's the same principle) on my team when i could have a ranger or ele?

Why have a derv when I can have a warrior is I think a big one.

Personally, if a derv is good, then why not, but i think people aren't used to them as much as warriors (and to some extent sins) so struggle to find a place for them in the team.

PuGs don't care what profession you are. If you're running balthazar in a pug they think you are the most leetsauce thing ever.

And if all else fails, make the group.

Run this bar and you'll see the big domoge pugs love.

With that said, I haven't had any problems getting into a group as a dervish unless it was Urgoz, UW, etc.

In a pve pug, I would take a Dervish over a Ranger any day (unless he is running BHA in a heavy casting mission). Most Rangers just bring barrage which isn't that good at all compared to wounding strike/reaper's sweep.

Thy loves dervishes. Prefers them over warriors in PuG. Thy post Kasstiel confuses me as that you say is false.

Beware Kasstiel, Halloween hates holy damage.

I like dervishes, sure not as good as a warrior, but not much worse. Sure, warriors are better at dervishes then a dervish itself. But, a warrior should be running a warrior build, like earthshaker which is far superior then a w/d imo.

been doing guardian title on my warrior and I think almost every PUG I have had had one Dervish in it. I see nothing wrong with them as long as the person that is playing knows what they hell to do. Just like any other profession. If you like that style play it. I haven't see any issues with getting in a group unless you have a terrible build.

Make a pvp derv and get it out of your system, its not worth the time to drag one though all the campaigns.
