Ranger,Sin,or Rit
Desolation
Not sure what to make next. I like playing pve a lot and playing pvp here and then. Want a fun character that can take on multiple enemies at a time....farm..etc. Pretty much a fun character. Thx

if your looking for fun, Go PvP Ranger for the diversity in build types, damage sources, interupts, and kitty lunging.
for PvE they have plenty of farms (ecto, obby shards, greens, mobs, ect.) barrage/incinderary arrows for AoE could also to dagge or scythe for more AoE.
Pet without speccing into a 2nd profession.
just experiment and have fun.

I would go Ranger,
It's honestly one of the funnest, and in my opinion, THE funnest to play. You can really go with tons of variants in 2ndary professions. (Both Assassins and Ritualist are great 2ndary)
You can go condition spread, with a pet, trapper, scythes & touch ranger, and so much more. Really a lot of fun possibilities for both PvP and PvE that are successful

Ranger probably fits what your after best. But don't count out that other classes, I suggest giving them all a go.
Huge range of viable builds, strong in all forms of PvP and there are pleanty of farms (The spirit one is my personal favourite).

Really depends what you want but I'd go rit.
I use my rit for farming and do it fine. They've got a variety of skills, and are great at a lot of things.
But just so you know, rit spirits are overpowered in pve and underpowered in pvp.

looks like im going ranger. i also heard for rituals expertise is sort of a synergy if you have rit secondary?
Thenameless Wonder
Well expertise is used to lower the energy of touch skills and rituals. You have some synergy but not as much as a ranger/necro touch ranger or a ritualist/necro explosive growth MM or spirit spammer.

Well, it depends on the persons definition of "fun." My definition of fun after making plenty of these threads, is what you enjoy.
I enjoy Spirit Spamming, Nuking, Support, Farming, Weapon Spells, and Spirit's Strength for ANY physical weapon. Obviously, I went with Rt.
Just try each one out and see which you enjoy the most. Or go with looks only. I've always liked the "I'm-a-blindfolded-dagger-ninja-Rt" look

currently have all 3 of these on my account and lately Rit has been one of the better in my opinion.
SoS buff was one of the best buffs they have ever done for rits and with a spammer build you can take on quite a bit at one time.
Sins are a good character to play, unfortunately jsut about everyone wants you to be a perma something which gets boring fast.
havent really played my ranger for about a year yet I hear there are some nice builds out there.
again, as everyone in the thread has said its all about your play style

Ranger
Pros: None, really, though you can do some runs and farming. Has a couple neat armour sets.
Cons:That there's nothing really of interest as a ranger goes.
Assassin
Pros: Lots of fun, effective skills. MS/DB chains are highly effective.
Cons: Mostly visual. Faces are somewhat limited and most armour sets don't look very good.
Ritualist
Pros: Hilariously powerful spirits. Very nice armour sets.
Cons: Most everything else is inferior and not very effective. Also, there's usually one Ritualist in a party, and that's the spirit spammer. Groups seldom take more than one Ritualist.
I advise Assassin, even though my personal favourite is Ritualist.
(Side note: on ZQ weekends when it's Vizunah Square or Unwaking Waters, go in as Ritualist with SoS, Bloodsong, Vampirism, and Pain. In VS' case, go on the foreign side. Odds are good the other team will have a spirit spammer too, and you can piss them off greatly by silently targeting them and casting your spirits right after they cast theirs, so they never have any spirits up.)

Fun is really up to you, but I like Rits because there are a lot of different build styles (Spirit Spammer, MM, Resto/Channeling hybrid, etc).

primairy rit is a waste - spawning power ain't cool even after the rit buffs and any other class can run spirit spammer build. it's better to make n/rt for the sake of soul reaping, to use with spirits or mm, or even e/rt for more mana. and those two more points from runes ain't changing anything much.
either use ranger and spam spirits on secondary rit (with high expertise it's not a problem) or get yourself an assassin - a/d with scythe is great, it can run things, it can farm things, it can clear whole underworld with another sin in no time. a/rt with high energy set can spam spirits as well ;p

a rit sprit spamer can farm almost anything in nm solo and a lot in HM i have farmed the items for the traveler each week on my rit and it is real easy.
my title char is a sin and i love him but i am playing my rit more and more if i could do it all over again i would have gone rit.
i would go rit or sin over ranger though bec there is a lot more you can do with them. and they can farm a lot more stuff.

with spawning power you can use boon of creation to manage energy and nvr have a problem if you are spirit spamming and it also gives the spirits/minions 48% more health at r12. |
48% more health requires you to waste 12 points which can be used for more points in channeling/communing, so your spirits make much more dps. also their level increase, so they take less damage than on lower levels. i prefer a combination of less damage (from spirits' level, also combining with higher damage output) + armor of unfeeling (useful to take down ele bosses) + summon spirits (as heal and movement) than wasting attribute points into a useless tree.
