Rit builds outside of JQ+FA
Estief Yu
Ok, so a couple months of PVE and I decided to try out a little PVP. Since I recently just got the expansions I started a ritualist, wanting to try out the factions PVP. Through some trial and error I've discovered a decent resto build with SLW that I use in FA and JQ. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has play-tested a decent build to be used outside of that, since I hear that in most AB and arena's people kill off your spirits anyway?

Rits aren't the best for PvP, monks can outheal you and an ele can outdo you in damage (lighting).
I'd go something like this if I did some RA with a rit:

Rits are mostly used for support in higher end PvP and the occasional spike. They make decent healers, however if you want to heal a monk is always a better choice. SLW isn't the best healing elite either, you might want to look into Weapon of Remedy, Xinrae's Weapon or Offering of Spirit. As for spirits getting destroyed, doesn't happen too often in RA as people dont perceive them to be a threat until they are smashing them for 50+ a hit, and even if they are destroyed, that's damage that isn't being directed at your party members.

Oh and This was not a rant to your thread by any means its just anoying when people think that rits are useless in pvp like the person above. If you want something decent in Ab add me at Ectos Make Me Moan maybe ill be on soon. But i can give you some good damage builds. I have some nice ones with sin secondary and paragon secondary and if you wanna go resto I have a few to. Hit me up sometime

Some rit builds work in TA but not so much in RA due to it being so random. But I've seen rits go in TA with a certain build and do quite well. You got skills that blind the area, and other such things, it can be quite a problematic build for the other team to fight against.
But very very few people are capable of running it effectively. It's not a build that is posted generally so most people are too lazy to work with the skills themselves.
For the most part Rit has no place in PvP, but it is possible, and equally possible to do so effectively.
Not that I have, but I've seen it done. Only in TA though.

Yes I agree since most of the nerfs Rits have become very bad in pvp. I wish Anet would just buff us up again.

Rit's aren't really pvp friendly unless you're support in gvg or gimmicking HA. Flag running is the only thing I see them used for anymore. I have pimped my rit out for flag running and that's what I mostly play, so I'm just telling you the truth.

I wouldn't say Rits are bad at PvP, but they aren't optimal. They are somewhat like Paragons: their strength is support.

Thanks for all the replies, they have all helped.

I haven't tried Xinrae's or WoR, been procrastinating about capping them. I've been using SLW for FA+JQ with Wielder's Remedy and Recovery for heavy Conditions. I enjoy SLW's equivalence to +16 health regen when in earshot of a spirit, since most people I've found, in FA especially, don't ever target my spirits. Except for when someone gets smart and starts bringing Signet of Binding. If I place my Life/Recovery correctly, I can keep a +32/s (+16 regen) SLW up on 5 allies constantly, while throwing out heals in between the cooldown. Like I said though, I'll have to give Xinrae's and WoR a try, thanks for the info.
