Legendary Defender of Ascalon announced in PreSear Ascalon.
DragonRogue
I couldnt find a thread on this in my search so sorry if its been asked before...but i think it would be cool to see LDoA titles announced in PreSear when someone gets it. Since so many spend so much time there working on that title. Its an amazing achievement and would be nice to congrats the people who get it from those who are still working on it.
OutlawFMA
It is announced the same way the other titles are to people who are in Ascalon.

In pre you do not see the people getting titles just people getting a given level. If someone gets lvl 20 outside the city nobody in pre will notice.
Might be a good idea. Myself I do not care but I do not mind having this implemented either and since it can be useful to someone so

If you really need the ego boost, jus save the charr in the catacombs quest for last and turn it in to get your in-town announcement.
OutlawFMA
They have LDoA announced the same way the other titles are. I don't think they are going to give it special treatment.

For that matter, does LDoA give a boost to favor?
Either way, I say there is no need, for making any title announced specifically anywhere other than the four port towns they are announced in.

No offense, but I have 2 reasons to /notsign this.
1) Very few people actually care about what you acheive*.
*2) LDoA isn't really an acheivement. Having your computer on all day while you're at work isn't hard.

Seems like a necessary update for this game, good thing we don't have anything else to fix at the moment, so we can focus on the important things like this one.
Agar
The only update LDoA needs is to be made an account wide title along with survivor.

Anet please remove Legendary Defender of Ascalon from the game.
Don't worry about all those who went to the "trouble" lol of getting it.
Its not as if they actually did anything.
I am sure it was a good joke at the time and all of you had a real laugh at all those who actually went for it.
Any joke eventually gets stale and this one is beginning to smell.
Jokes over remove the title and then create a new title where you actually have to work to get it.
Make it so that can be achieved alongside survivor.
If you think players might be upset about losing the title give them a reward as compensation 10 gold should be enough.

There are many more impressive titles.
Legendary Guardian. Legendary Cartographer. Legendary Vanquisher. PvP titles.
LDoA is merely a title of AFK and grind.

it should show in pre-sear ascalon seeing as pre is where the title is achieved. /agree

Anet remove titles.
El Presidente
Yes, it does. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Favor_of_the_Gods
/agree ~ If it shows in Post, though being a Pre title, it just makes sense to show it in Pre Ascalon.
For those stating it's an "afk" title and/or the player didn't actually have to do anything:
Cursed By Fate and Blessed By Fate can be considered "afk" titles, as probably most that have obtained those did, in some part, by afk'ing the rings.
Might as well not show GWAMM, either, if you have any of the above titles that got you GWAMM. After all, you really didn't "earn" all those 30 titles.
Sometimes, I leave the computer on at night while I'm sleeping. Shh...don't tell anyone.
^There you go.^ No more gold sinks, e-peen, grinding for a title, etc.

Titles were an unfortunate idea, in my opinion.
Yes, I know they're there to keep people playing, but I still hate the effect they've had on the player base. I also believe that people who quit GW having finished everything but never experienced the shittiness of titles, would come back to GW2 as they'd expect high quality.
As it is now, people who quit... probably aren't coming back, because they've seen the game is already reduced to Grind Wars.
To be honest, I'd suggest killing off the grind titles (reputations, sweet tooth/drunkard/party animal, LDoA, etc) and keeping the gameplay titles (protector, guardian, cartographer, skill hunter) when it comes to GW2. Not only would this mean to more ridiculous PvE-only, overpowered skills, but it'd also mean titles would be a positive gameplay element rather than a WoW-esque shitheap of grinding.

If anyone thinks I'm being sarcastic I'm not.
Really, remove titles.

There are its true stupid titles that I wouldnt miss but have they kept the pve part of the game alive.
I don't especially go for titles unless they give me something I want
DragonRogue
Just to put the record straight...I have a pre toon that i was thinking about making an LDoA but it is a SERIOUSLY painstaking title to work on and im not sure i have the patience to acquire it...so no, this was not suggested because of MY ego. And maybe you nay-sayers should really look into what it takes to achieve it before you open your mouth and say its easy. Its not. The title does go for Favour and it is announced in POST Sear only, Presear never sees anyone achieving ANY title. Since this is a Presear title, and many many people do work on it, i thought it would be nice for them to see others actually reach it.
This wasnt about whether you like or dislike titles. So once more...STOP THINKING THAT THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND YOU AND START THINKING WHAT SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT THINK IS COOL, YOU SELFISH SOBs. Millions of people play this game and think some things are good, some things arent for them, but really... how would this really hurt you? Just because it doesnt BENEFIT you, doesnt mean that its not a good idea for others.

It's time consuming. It's not difficult.
DragonRogue
pulling the char to the shrine is not easy and quite annoying. maybe you should try it sometime. and yes, very time consuming. but so is chest running for treasure or wisdom. but you all make it sound like this is a simple task to achieve and not worth any recognition for those that actually do go for this title. i am simply stating that its a presear title announced only in post sear where the majority of players working for it would never see anyone achieve it other than under a name in town. just thought it would be nice for them.
Reformed
Don't know if you are working on one of these but let me be the first to tell you it doesn't matter if the folks in pre see it or not. Next to achieving Legendary Vanquisher back in August of '07 (when it was a rare title) this got me the most congratulatory whispers. Enough people out there obviously appreciate that it's still a relatively rare title, grind or otherwise. Don't be fooled either...if it was a joke to do like Survivor has become the naysayers would all have it.
