in game when you are doing pvp and get smashed, locked down, smashed i dont care how you want to put it> how do you react? there are those who beg for a nerf, then there are those that learn the build that pwned them and learn ways around it. this is a different version of a thread i made that got closed yes, but it more clearly states my question and thought. so converse please.
i myself got pwned by a touch ranger in A.B. and instead of getting angry at the ranger i was blown away that he could destroy my warrior like he did LOL. pm'd him to teach me the build and he was very nice taught me the build and the disadvantages of the build.

I do the pwning and I dance on sins heads. I actually dance on the closest players head before they pop out. I think that's the best pwning in the game.

Playin an ele, i ran into a guy runnin some flavor of caster hate and i swear i didnt get a spell off the entire match. When it was over i just PM'ed the guy and offered a tip of the hat.
He worked me 6 ways to sunday. funny thing is he offered the build he used on me. I thought that was pretty decent of him.
Bottom line i guess is if i get smoked and locked down then it is I who was weak in that exchange. so why get pissed off. Take the beating and learn from it.

Some mesmer with migraine + frustration + tons of interrupts completely shut me down in ra. I couldn't even cast patient spirit on myself before I was dead because the interrupts. That was just horrible lol. So I pressed alt+f4 and went playing aion for the rest of the day.

How I react depends on how the pwner reacts after I'm dead. If he/she continues playing I'll PM the player and congratulate them on the build. However, if they stand over me and dance, laugh, call me noob etc etc I'll put their name on my friends list so I'll know whenever they are playing. That way if I should meet up with them again I can get my revenge. This has worked many times and I have several on my friends list.

FA/JQ: I pay attention to the skills they used, how they used them, what I did to get roflstomped, and then I go back and use it against him/her.
That's the beautiful thing about rangers, you can work your way around just about anything if you don't lose your mind. And even more doors open up for a ranger if he is confident in his team.

meh, shit happens, i play my sin a lot in ra, and sometimes you can smash a whole team to bits, but then sometimes a n/me will come in with insidious parasite and empathy, and your stuck wandering around the whole match.
and also, learn a lesson when you get beat, if you a see a touch ranger, dont even waste your time on him... go kill something else.

Honestly, the only time you get really pwned in the game like the ones being described here are when you get buildwarsed. A mesmer has migrane+frustration? His build is all about shutting down one character.When someone rolls a build like that, they gamble that they will have someone to shut down. If that same mesmer were to come up against a team of 4 warriors (lolRA), he would be almost completely useless.
If you are getting destroyed repeatedly by a build, it is because the build is specifically tailored to kill you. There is always a counter to everything if you look hard enough. GW is a team game, and counter builds are really only meant to piss off one person at a time. Rarely do they make the difference in a match, they just piss YOU off.

If I get pwn'd by someone else... I toggle to F10 and see the skills used on me to devise the build they used. And I have on occation msged the person for the build and stuff and usually they will share. There was one time a P/W used this burning hammer build on me in RA and I wished I caught the build because it rolled the whole team with it.

Depends on my mood and the state of the match and the behaviour of my opponent. Generally if it was a one-off because the player was good and/or caught me unawares I'll congratulate them in local; if it's a complete gankfest because the other two teams are doing diddly squat, and my team has all three enemy teams on us because they have nobody else left to kill, I'll stand there and dance til I die to the multiple hammer warriors beating the shit out of me.

this thread fails. sure i get killed and i lose but i don't get "owned". if you are being owned truth is you're bad. a decent player with a decent build and good positioning never gets owned in pvp areas like ra and jq.

I never get mad or pissed off when I get killed in PvP in general. However, getting straight-up pwned in a seemingly unfair situation, yes, pisses me off. It only seems this way with Assassins. I will be on a caster PvP character and an assassin just comes out of nowhere, teleports to me, puts every condition and hex on me in the entire game and I die before I can even push down the W key to run away. I guess it's fair since I've dished out my share of serious face stomping in PvP to the point I've been threatened by people.
