Legitimacy of CD Key Site

I was looking around for a copy of Nightfall for my friend (he doesn't want to use a credit card for the ingame store), and it is pretty hard to find a unbundled version of NF in a store anymore. I was browsing google, checking availability in certain stores, and I came across this site claiming to sell various CD keys.
http://www.allcdkey.com/

It seems legitimate, but I have some reservations. I found this in their FAQ:
"'Are your CD keys and game time cards legit? Where do you get them from?'

Of course, our CD keys and game time cards are 100% legal. The CD keys and game time cards are taken from standard retail packages, and then scanned and send as photos via email attachments. We are absolutely reliable."

Has any ever used this site? This doesn't look like the run-of-the-mill "unused cdkey" tricks on ebay, but I would rather not scam myself out of $15.

Think of it like this: if almost none of the box art matches the game it is advertising, its a scam. Lol @ Cod: MW with master chief as the advertisement

EDIT: There is no risk to using a credit card in the ingame store. Unless you have a keylogger on your computer. But thats a 0% chance unless your friend either A: downloads heavy porn, or B: clicks for free smileys

Any time you're buying a game, get a boxed copy from a shop or get the key from the online store added to your account. GW is fairly cheap these days anyway so there's no need to take a risk and ever wonder whether something is legit. If you buy a boxed copy that's still sealed or buy an account direct from NCsoft you have no chance of being scammed.

I purchased two keys...one for the trilogy, and one for EOTN from [offgamers dot com]. That is where I got my second account.

I got my full guild wars account for $44, and had it up and going in a matter of minutes. So, I cannot vouch for the website you posted, but I can vouch for the one that I posted.

I've actually used the site that was mentioned earlier, offgamers, for a few games that were sold out around where I live (small town). So far they've been great with the speed of the delivery ^_^ . You can also use a bunch of different payment methods on the site (paypal, western union, webmoney, ect, ect)

They'll email you telling you it's been delivered then all you do is

1) Click on the link and login to your account.
2) Click on the order number, to view your order details.
3) Scroll to the bottom and click on “Show Code”.

Here's is what the email you get from them looks like (edited)

Dear Mr. -----

Now I'm not saying that you should trust any site with it, it's always up too you if you order it or not. Most of the sites are scams but there's always 1 or 2 that are legit.

I don't know about that one but there are plenty of trustworthy key sellers. It does these sites no good to sell "used" keys obviously, so they can't go stealing them from other people, they need to obtain them from fresh retail packages. They can't easily screw you once you use the key, even if they call Anet claiming the account was stolen, you also have cd-key access so they won't clearly be awarded back the account - and if they bring to bear their company name, they'd just get in trouble with NCSoft.

Half of my campaigns I bought just as keys from high-rated ebay sellers, never had any issue. My guess is some sellers figure it is profitable to operate in this manner. They don't have to worry about shipping, handling, or storage for boxes of games, just open a box, scan the key into a database, throw it away, and profit later.

Buying keys isn't really any more risky than buying anything else on the internet. Ebay sellers scam you just as easily on physical items- in fact even easier since they can invent excuses like things getting lost in the mail, being slow to send stuff out, etc. Nothing like getting an e-mail with your key an hour after purchase.

www.g2play.net is my new first stop when it comes to CD keys.

I've bought Aion Pre-Order, Dead Space, and Left 4 Dead, and all of them have been legit. My friend bought Diablo 2 and he got that just fine too.

Pay with Pay Pal, too.

-

All Guild Wars Campaings and EotN = $36.
Nightfall = $12.37

Bargains!

Thanks for the link. Steam is damn cheap at the moment with the NZD:USD exchange rate, but these guys make it even cheaper.

The prices on GW don't seem that good IMO, I've seen far better deals around.

Amazon US has some decent deals on GW atm,

Newegg are also pretty good when it comes to cheap electronics

Thanks everyone, I'll look into paypal and Offgamers/G2play and talk to my friend. The main problem with the ingame store is that it's overpriced. I've seen copies on ebay go for around $15 while the store is around $30.

no, seriously....when you buy a key from a place, your purpose is to buy a SEALED key that no eyes have touched yet, that guarantees it's 100% legit.

In this case, I would without a doubt say this company is a little crappy makeshift company out of someone house to scam people out of money and make a few roflbucks then disappear into thin air when something like the law kicks in. LMAO no company scans pictures wit ha scanner of keys and emails them as attachments. If they do send them they send by text like in the NC store.

So how do you in all your infinite wisdom explain how I came by my second account? It didn't just magically create itself using one of my emails/passwords, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a scam.

Yup, works just fine.

Regarding g2play they were found to be selling stolen digital codes for Blood Bowl:

http://www.cyanide-studio.com/forumB...php?f=4&t=3663

So those codes were blacklisted and banned.

Edit: I'm not saying all codes are stolen or all sites are suspect. Just to be aware what and where you're buying from.

For any game, to ensure you are getting a legitimate version buy a sealed boxed copy in a store or online, or get it from an authorised digital distributor like the companies store (NCSoft) or somewhere like Steam or even direct2drive if they have it.

You get them to promise to rip open, take a pic with eyes closed and e-mail it duh. -sarcasm-

Obviously get a friend with a credit card to buy it through online store then give friend the cash or go buy a real copy at a store or something.

Lots of stores like bestbuy and walmart will send your order to the store near you so you can pay in person instead of online.

If you use PayPal, then you can get your money back if you are scammed. PayPal works as a middleman for the purchase. If what you order is not as expected, then you can cancel the transaction. This means that a site offering PayPal as a payment option is less likely to be a scam site. A few complaints and PayPal would cut them off.

You might get your Paypal money back after about 6 months, after providing a lot of proof and paperwork. I'd avoid the key code scammers, cheaper and safer to buy the sealed retail.
