Changing account type (country)?
We A K
I do not mean in-game language.
Now, I am trying to change my account's country to North American to Korean. I am living in America, and so I went out and bought the North American version of the game. Now that I can purchase the game online, I can buy the Korean version. That is great, but I have one question: am I going to have to buy the Trilogy pack and Eye of the North, or is there a way I can have my account transferred over? I would really rather avoid paying $80 and have to get 20s again, although I will if I have to. Also, I am assuming I can still play in the North American server, with some of my friends I have made in the game. In addition, I read off of the Wiki-Guild Wars that I can use English and any Eastern characters besides Japanese -- "Eastern characters" is very broad, is there any specifics?
Thanks so much for reading my block of text, hopefully I can enlighten others as well as myself.
--Edit: I have accumulated $80, so I will be getting the Korean version once I figure out if I can buy the Korean version in North America and if I can go to English districts. Thanks!

As this seems to fall under the "account" area, try the phone number on this page http://us.ncsoft.com/en/support/
Or try the Twitter.
You are more likely to get accurate and up-to-date information direct form NCSoft.

I think, or asume, that it wouldnt have to do with what version you get, but rather which country server(server server, not ingame outpost server) your always logged into.(remeber that korea's server was locked out of the world server for nearly 3yrs)
let me rephrase - I asume, that its not the game, but its where you live. you dont live in korea so you shouldnt want or need to join their server unless you speak korean or you want the asian guildtag(which some people offer to make for you for an ingame fee or free).

I can see this turning into people asking me questions about why I would want a Korean game, so please don't ask. It may seem weird to you, but not really to me. Thanks.

Where are you buying the korean korean version? I'd like a korean account also.

I decided to look through all of these different languages for Guild wars (Taiwan, Japan).. I can't find a website for Guild Wars in either.. is this game dieing in Asia?
If I can't get it online, if anyone can give me the name of a Korean website where I can buy Guild Wars I would appreciate it.

Taiwan servers were shut down due to laws that allow gold sellers, if I remember correctly.
Tawianese now play on American servers.

OT: Is there any website I can order the game off of?
Darcy
Try any store links from this site http://www.guildwars.co.kr/
or better still, once again, ask NCSoft. Our answers are guesses.

In order to use asian letter characters, the Windows language setting most be set to that desired language. Guild Wars will detect the language Windows is set to and adjust. North American versions of the game are the only versions offer in that territory. Asian versions are not offered outside of the Asian territory. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
^ That's the answer from Guild Wars support. I'm assuming you can still order a copy from Asian territory to use the Asian names.
EDIT: I received a new response saying that the Windows language is the used language in Guild Wars. I have changed my language to Korean and nothing is happening. I sent a new query.

Blah, finding an Asian copy would be nice.
Darcy
What they have said is that if your computer is set to an Asian language, GW will allow you to type Asian characters for names.
360??

Yea, but the game won't allow you to use the name with english version. You can only use English letters in your name.

And the response is...
Then a Korean version of the game will be needed. Please note however that Asian versions are not sold in the North American territory
Back to the original assumption.
