Spectral Agony
ambergris
I am doing the Ice Caves of Sorrow mish to free Evennia and have run into Mursaat Eles' using the above skill.
I now know that I need my armor infused with Spectral Essense to counter but it seems that I must get to the Iron Mines of Moladune mish or outpost before the Ice Caves of Sorrow mish and the ICoS mish comes first.
Is this some kind of Catch-22? Is there a better way to get the essense?

In the Ice Caves of Sorrow mission, you shouldn't have to fight any Mursaat. Most of the mission is Dwarves or White Mantel, I'll go over the Mursaat areas below:
****spoilers****
1.Ignore the bonus, you will have to come back and do it again when infused.
2.When you rescue Evennia, Saidra will run off to agro the Mursaaat. Let her go and leg it into the caves.
3. Wait for the large mob of Mursaat to start moving away from the exit of the cave, and just follow them slowly but don't attack. They will get killed by Dwarves and White Mantel
4. It is possible there will be a few Mursaat left, these you should be able to kill by targetting and taking them down quickly.

If I'm not mistaken there are also some mursaat right at the beginning which you'll need to let pass before proceeding ahead and some other groups later which you will be able to simply avoid.

not much you can do about that misson but try and finish without the bonus.
Once you're done and have Iron Mines mission you could get a run to get your armor infused. Takes about 10mins and requires minimal fighting.
Once you're there if ya want an infuse run PM me in game.

After completing the Ice Caves mission (Ignore the bonus for now and wait for Mursaat patrols to go past) you arrive at the Iron Mines mission. During this you will get infused. You can get an infusion run, but you had might as well do the mission unless you just want a new set of armour infused after completing the mission previously.

Avoid all mursaats. When you get to the prison, flag heroes and henches at the door above the prison. Run to powder kegs without aggroing anything. Blow up door next to heroes and henches. Get another keg and blow up prison door. Run out through the door above the prison.
Yojimaru
Alternatively, you could go to Mineral Springs and get infused there.

You can avoid these ones as well, if you are patient and don't rush out they will patrol into a group of enemis and get killed or they will wonder out of your path.

And as long as you are there you might as well pick up a skill cap or two that you can't get anywhere else plus you might find an ids (which is pretty worthless anymore but fun to see drop anyway)

As far as I can remember there are about 2-3 mursaats at the gate you have to blow up to get to the Rornak Stonesledge and initiate the bonus. They can be killed quite easily. Other mursaat groups can be avoided during the mission.
Also, if you can, use heroes as they have infused armor.

Play with infused people and 'accidentally' get disconnected
MagmaRed
There are only 3 Mursaat Elementalists you have to fight to do the bonus. Although you will be taking serious damage from Spectral Agony, there are 8 people on the team. As long as you have a team capable of killing those 3 Elems before they kill all 8 of you, you can rez those that died. And Spectral Agony is not a guaranteed death, I have survived getting hit by it with uninfused armor before. Heroes are always infused, so if you have them, it makes things easier. But outside of those 3 Mursaat Elems for the bonus, you shouldn't fight any Mursaat for the entire mission.

Thanks all.
While my char did die a few times, I was resurrected and we finally beat the Mursaat we encountered.
The problem was after we freed Evennia, she was killed on the way to the ship. That was regrettable as we had come so far.
I guess avoidance for now especially with Evie with us would be a good idea.

You have to kill everything on the path to the ship.
Evennia stops if you try to run past something. Typical Togo behaviour ;-)

It's probably me but I wasn't able to chart exactly where it is from the map.

Simple as that

If you still want to get there, theres probably a map on wiki somewhere.

It's not worth it. It's a bit of a walk, and the fights are tough. I'd recommend leaving the bonus for now, doing the next mission (Iron Mines of Moladune) and getting infused, then coming back and doing it. When you do, try to get initial aggro so that Spectral Agony isn't seriously life threatening.

After three attempts, down 60% health and limping victoriously off the battlefield of Markis' well deserved defeat, I found myself in the next town or outpost crying, huh??? Where is the seer?
After checkin' Wiki, went back the correct and much easier path and got infused finally.
