I have a problem wth guild wars every time i open guild wars and start to play everything turns white and boxy then my curser turns white then my computer freezes i need help
PS this has happened more then 9 times i have reset my computer 5 times

does this happen when playing any other games? it sounds like your video card is dying, but it may be a corrupted gw.dat file or messed up drivers...

i do have a kind of old computer but i havent tried any other game

Are you using integrated graphics? Please tell us your video card. To find your video card, follow the following steps:
1. Go to Run
2. Type "dxdiag"
3. Go to Display
4. Your video card will be listed as "Name"

it is a Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family and also i have a picture of the problem

looks like you have a corrupted gw.dat file. delete it, and run GW with the -image tag. leave it overnight to finish.

Moriz hit it before me, it's a corrupt DAT, fixing it will get you back on track.

when i go to the gw folder it gives four files arenanet.log , gw.dat , gw.tmp , crash.tmp

you can add the following command to the end of your desktop Guild Wars shortcut....
right click on it and select Properties - where it says Target add the following to what is already there: "-image" without the quotes.
This will download all the data for areas that you have previously played, making your load times much much shorter. Leave that running overnight and make sure to remove the "-image" from the end of the Target under Properties before playing again.
