Anyways, I think you should consider making a second account of the CEs, so you can run two accounts at the same time, so you can have 6 heroes. A lot of people do that. It's atleast something to consider.

Yes, you can add any CEs "on top" of regular ones. Doing so will add the bonus items and whatever other extra perks the CE offers, but no new character slots.

i remember reading on here before that it does overwrite and it adds the emotes to the account.

Seems sort of expensive to just add a few in-game emotes and pets.
Though maybe not if you got in on the 10.49 price mistake on 2 of the CE's early this week. Don't know where you'll find the Prophecies CE, if you do find it, expect to pay a lot.
