Hi everyone.
This is not the typical " I have been banned help me" thread, cause I know noone here can do anything
this morning I logged on and I had a 330 hour ban ( 13 days)
this is because I called a friend of mine a jew (lol)
anyways, I was surprised because I thought it is normally 32 hours/ 72 hours for "racial slur" ban, especially since I have never been banned before.
Am I just unlucky or should I have gotten a 32/72 hour ban?

You did it on general chat or pm ? if you did it by pm i can tell he/she is not your friend.

Would depend on where it was made (Whisper, Local, Team, Guild, etc.), how it was made (almost all racial slurs can be made 'friendly' or 'hostile'), and what the chat log showed before it was made. I doubt you simply called your friend a Jew, and I doubt he was the only one who saw it. But how you called him a Jew and who saw it can make a big difference in the ban length.

I saw some thread here (or was it on GWO? anyway it was months ago) where a guy had been banned for calling his friend <a certain word starting with an N, about black people> just as a joke. Apparently that was in guild chat but only those two were on at the moment, or something, and some admin or whatever happened to be listening in right then. So it doesn't need to be your rich friend who have reported you.

I have similar problem I've got banned for scamming - I don't know what i was scamming i was only selling vs v12 and v13 some red rock candies etc. Anet reply my email and told me i was scamming stones for nicholas 330h ban -.- Anet just ladle out bans for every problem !

First of all, I was talking to him, and he was saying how one of our other friends was banned. and then I brought up how its funny I have never been banned although I always abuse people.
we always give each other shit and he said " im gonna report you for the lolz"

I honestly don't care about the ban that much, as I have multiple accounts and I do not play much anymore, I just thought it was weird to get a 13 day ban for a pretty harmless offence.

A ban of this nature generally means 1 of 2 things;
You've been banned due to this kind of a thing a lot more often (they tend to 'increase punishment' to repeat offenders).
Or
You've said/done a whole lot more in that conversation that is a lot worse then just saying yew and justifies said punishment.

Most likely, it was a 336 hour ban, or two weeks. Considering the amount, you must have been banned for this kind of action before.
But still, that's pretty lame. You should ask support for a repeal, saying it was a joke. You'll probably have to get your friend in on it too though.

and to all those saying I got such a long ban because I must have had multiple offences, that is why I made this thread, because this is the FIRST time I have been banned, which is what makes it so weird.

If it was someone on staff that got personally offended enough to hand down that ban I wonder how they cope with life in the real world. That is of course on the off chance you are telling the truth OP and this was a first offense. Next time try calling them a cracker and see what happens...oh wait, nothing. Really, distinguishing seems to be way too difficult.
Anet needs to hire a couple persons who know that culture has it so a lot of people aren't extremely butthurt over simple words.

Another somewhat brutallly honest OP does nothing but seep into the depths of semi brutally honest unintelligent posts.
Calling someone a jew is completely different from calling someone Jewish which their religious background/right/choice.
Using "simple" words in amongst friends be it calling people a "jew" or "ngga" or whatever.....falls into the category of fitting in.
The main two reasons someone uses such "simple" words with such negative connotations....
1. No one taught that person any better
2. The people around you don't care....but they should.
Whats right is right.
But hey at some point in life we are all guilty of just trying to fit in by making decisions we know in the first place arent the right decisions. At some point in life ...this thought needs to be learned and then move on. Its called maturity. It continues all through life.
The big picture is always the best picture. The more you know....the better chance you have to make good decisions. If you think its ok for a guild to just widely use "ngga" in chat....you're wrong.
When are people as a whole going to learn.......the world would be a lot different if people truely treated people....how they want to be treated.
