Feather Farming - Guide
SpiritBond
Hey all. First of all, this is the guide of feather farming in Normal Mode in Factions. 1 Run gets you about 60-200 Feathers. As you all know they're needed for BU (Essence of Celerity) which are going for ~4k and Stack of Feathers, which is going for ~10k. You must to salvage the Feathered Crest, so you get 4-6 Feathers out of them.

The farm. As you enter Jaya Bluffs from Seitung Harbor, you run to the north,as the map shows, to the first group of Sensali. After you aggro the Sensali's wait them all to come to you, then start using skills. Repeat that on every group, even killing the Yeti's if they cross your way. From the start you follow the red line, that leads you to the groups of Sensali's, for the fastest way of farming.
There's not much more to say about it, the run is pretty easy and profitable.
The map:
I'll post some screenshots and guide for more proffesions soon. Hope you like it.
Counters:
- Aggroing too many mobs (15 or more)
- Not mantaining enchantments (Health and Energy problems)
This guide was made in good meaning to help players explain the farming. If you don't like it, just don't post anything.

May I ask why an insightful staff head and not an adept or hale or even defensive? Or even a 40/40 set?

Nice, i guess it could help out the lazy one, but the farm is pretty straight forward.
and yea I blieve a 40/40 set would be better.

You forget to said that you must recycle that feathered scalps (exact name? can't log atm) which give 4-5 feathers each.
Esoteric Mesmer
Nice guide, build is probably little faster than the A/E one that I run.
I do question the 150-250 feathers per run, I usually average between 60 and 90 feathers on this run.
I am also thinking that the feather market will crash if SF is nerfed, because the demand for essence of celerity won't be as high. So get your fill of feather farming before the price drops!

I dont even use a ele or sin i use a triple chop warrior build and a MM build. I cant pull up the skills atm but ya they work if you know how to use them and are in NM.
AngelWJedi
nice guide but its nicer with rt. and you missed a spot or two on it as well.
chowmein69
is this in nm or hm ?
Marty Silverblade
NM. It says in the first line of the OP.
Loot Junkie
After farming this for more than 2 years, I wholeheartedly agree with the route you have posted. Like Esoteric, I have to say that 60-90 feathers per run sounds about right. The most I have ever seen after salvaging all crests is 124.
IronSheik
Sorry...too many guides with just about this exact build and map.

Just run a VwK build.
damkel
Cymru Ranger
I am doing this with my Ranger with a VwK build.
Wep:
Any +15 / +20 nrg staff will do for sure. If u need to wait the recharge to kill the foes u did something wrong and practice more. Yesterday i accidently sold my last high nrg staff and was lazy to get 1 from my heroes so i used an in game drop blue bo staff with +7 nrg. I was able to kill all birdies with 42 nrg bar everytime.
Resto: 12
Chanelling: 12
Expertise: 3+1
My skillbarr look like this:
VwK
Radiation Field
Light of Deldimor
Ancestors Rage
Spirit Rift
Troll Urgent
Natural Stride
Dodge
I just past next to the Giants than run into the middle of the birdy group close to the Dark Feathers than cast VwK-->Radiation Field--> LoD-->Ancestors Rage (they usually died at this time but if not) --> Spirit Rift
I usually got 70-100 feathers/run + dyes + runes + golds (can be sold as uniden as they are shit but still count to wisdom title). Dont forget to identify the light blue armor pieces as they easily can include for example Soul Reaping + 1 (2k at rune trader)
!!!! To reach the 70-100 feather you MUST salvage The Feathered Crests whatthe birdies drops. USE the cheap salvage kit (only 100g and 25 usage) to be effective.
To identificate the armor pieces i am using superior kit, though i didnt checked if there any difference in loot comparing to the cheap ide kit.

i either use a mindblast ele or sos build, mb is generally faster
superraptors
i find that spamming spirits net more feathers / collectables then killing them all within 5 second builds
usually 60-80 using aoe and around 90-130 feathers using spirit spam
a decent relaxed easy farm which requires no real effort and decent money per hour with any char 15-30k an hour depending how good you are, possibly more from runes

Is there a mesmer build or will any of the various mesmer farm/solo builds work?

los!!!
2 questions:
1. Do u salvage all the loot or only crests?
2. Is there a difference if i use expert salvage kit or not?

this is a 9-10 min run with any/Rt build in NM using ancestor's rage, VwK, spirit rift and speed boost skill(s) depending on primary (ranger is best imo, stormchaser+dwarven stability = perma IMS) but yeah this is like the 10th thread with the exact same information/route/stats, etc.
Verene
I get a lot of dye doing this, as well as tons of runes and usually a couple golds per run.
I use my Rit and my Derv to farm in Jaya; Rit I use standard spirit spam, it's incredibly easy. Dervish I use a weird variation on the AoB build, with Mystic Regen and Sliver Armor. Both work quite nicely and I average 100-130 feathers per run. The least I've ever gotten in a single run (after salvaging crests) was about 90, the most around 160.

There are a trillion ways to farm feathers out of Seitung, which is probably one of my favorite parts about the farm. I use a template that any character with a Ritualist secondary could use.
Vengeful was Khanhei (invinci-skill in Normal Mode), Spirit Rift, Ancestor's Rage, Light of Deldrimor (3 skills to kill any aggro'd group of Sensali), Mindbender (generally speeds up the run, fast cast doesn't hurt either), "I Am Unstoppable!" (stops cripple from Crippling Dagger, makes it infinitely easier to aggro multiple groups), Resilient Weapon, Wielder's Boon (These two delay the need to use VwK until all the Sensali are around you and attacking, and can help you to survive any mess-ups with VwK against larger groups.)
Attributes are pretty obvious: Max Channeling, Max Resto.
I've only run this on a Necro with 5 Soul Reaping, I doubt it's needed so long as you have a decent energy pool. I prefer this build because I've just used it more than any others, and it completes the run the fastest of any I've tried. I follow the same route that's been posted around, average a very similar amount of feathers (my numbers tend to be a little lower, though), and aggro together as many groups as possible for a screenful of pretty yellow numbers.

I use a R/E earth build, can clear the area in 12 mins.

nice guide.
I would compare the drop rates to the Tengus in front of Lions Arch.
About the same amount of feathers drop there.
Just a question. Someone above me already mentioned it.
It seems that my Spirit spammer gets more feathers than my AOE Derwish.
Why ?

This was on top of the degen from rad field and poisoned heart. The trick with these little buggers is, do only enough to kill them and no more.
Drops decrease as the time interval between kills becomes shorter. So multiple kills at the same time will erase drops, while killing one at a time, or every 5-10 seconds or more will yield more drops. It doesn't matter how much damage you pump into the target to kill it, but the time between kills does matter.
This thread explains drop rates in greater detail. My own experience is the same or similar as the results in that thread.

cast the AoB and Channeling right before mob. then proceed 2-3-4-5-6-7 (do so quickly to reduce time and prevent enchants wearing off)
use 8 if you need health while in mob and 7 again if they are still standing after you bomb them.
for this you dont even need a weapon. although it is recommended you have a weapon that is 20% enchant and +5 energy. makes it quicker.
tell me what you think.
