Rune question
Mikayel
Once I upgrade a peice of armor with a rune, is there any was to extract it if i change my mind and no longer want it there? is is the damage done?

u can use a perfect salvage kit (which wont destroy your armor/weapon) or expert salvage which has a chance to destroy the item..u can buy them from merchant traders the perfect one is from consumables guy in Eotn outpost but requires a title...unless u buy one from someone in kamadan.

that would be awesome if i had Eotn, but i do not. only proph, factions, and nightfall. it would be important to me because i was debating whether or not putting a superior rune of choice on my new elite necro armor was a mistake, and i wasnt sure whether i really wanted it there. too late now i guess

You can buy a Perfect Salvage Kit from other players. They'll usually charge you a crafting fee, but if it's your only choice it's worth it. Also, if you don't like the rune, you can just put another one on and it will replace it (so you'll lose the sup, but instead you'll have whatever you like, no harm done).

oh, sweet. i had no idea. i didnt want no rune, just a different one.

1. You can overwrite an existing rune by replacing it with a new one. You will lose the one on the armour but if it is of low value or no use then this is ok.
2. You can use an Expert Salvage kit to attempt to remove the rune (this is not advisable as you have a chance of destroying the armour instead).
3. You can craft/buy a Perfect Salvage Kit (as described above). With this you can salvage any item and it will always remain and successfully remove the item you want, in this case take off the rune and leave your armour intact.

Ps. You can extract runes/insig's from you're hero's armour without using perfect salvage, their armour never breaks

Just to clarify, you will always get the item you are trying to salvage, in this case a rune. You might, in the process, also destroy the armour piece you are salvaging it from, but you will never destroy the armour without getting the rune as implied by the quote.

Here's the page on wiki about how to make them ...

So while you can't go yourself, you can check material trader prices and get a feel for how much they're worth.
If you want some, I'll craft them for you in exchange for the crafting fee and materials.

a perfect salvage kit has 5 actions only so you can use it once and save it for another char later as there not expensive to obtain, dont get ripped off if your buying one.
If your in a Guild ask a Guildie to get one for you he/she will just charge you the mat cost ect

Most Superior runes are cheap so the best option would be to just overwrite it.
