I looked at the update today and noticed alot of changes to Underworld.

If anyone tested it, is UWSC nerfed now?

My guild tried to do a couple of runs it seems to definitely be different...

Vale : The Grasping Darknesses seem to just pop out of the ground instead of patrolling

Pits : When you take the quest from the reaper the terror webs seem to pop almost on top of the souls

Just heard in wastes that the terror webs spawn in different locations now

I haven't seen wastes yet but I would imagine that it now requires two people


As for the pits issue I belive shadow of haste solves it?

you do have a 33% IMS if you use shadow of haste + essence
I've never done pits, though, so i'm not sure if it's possible

Well, i'm a fairly decent all areas <15 and pits is one of my slower areas. I'm at school atm so i wont havea chance to try until tonight, but i imagine that if the dryders spawn ON TOP of the spirits it will be impossible to complete....wtf are anet thinking?

Me and 2 guys can confirm that the wastes spawn is differant. they should have screenies and a guide coming up, we concluded it IS DOABLE with 1 person, but 2-3 make much easier, and you gotta be quick.

Anyways, here's my full 2 cents

I'd rather have had them nerf SF in general, although that would not have changed ecto prices or UWSC speeds sigifigantly. This update will simply just cause all the permas to move on to Bogroots, Frostmaws, Shards of Orr 8 mans or FoWSC. Expect an even more dramatic drop on EotN End chest skins.

Did it with 5 teams....all failed in pits....Did 2 myself failed....the other 3 pits...said the terrowebs spawned on spirits

pits you use soh , and wastes is very easy still , still use bow trick no soh , and d/c wont work for wastes anymore.

but no its not nerfed good teams can still do 15 min clears and pugs well they fail alot more no w lol

I doubt any of this stuff was to nerf UWSC. It's mostly to make it easier for balanced parties. SF nerf comes later.

i know and my post gets deleted because i always rant about anet messing up a perfect thing and little kids run this forum so they can have it there way i'm an adult and I kinda noticed it :P. personally I run fow and uw in 3.5 hours in hard mode using my particular warrior build thats not like ur normal 100b but basically almost every skill has a area of effect except 1 or 2. other then that properly made discorway with high health of 600+ and 6 to 5 necros and if you have 2 player necros with eton skills or 3 with the other discorway heroes it goes by really fast when killing a mob except it takes 3.5 hours but i feel i get more gold doing it that way and more ectos/ obsidian shard drops this way then doing it in the fowsc or uwsc method. In fow for instance with a merchant stone or 3 i end up walking out with 10k gold many good materials not just obsidan shards tend to leave with at least 3 to 6 of them each game. so I average 20k or more in 3.5 hours and i find it more fun and easier to do then having someone messing up and people dropping out and the best part no need for cons sets. it's posible people to do uw and fow with out them but it does take 3.5 hours at least but more worth it and save more money and more chest to open .

People have been asking to nerf UWSC since it became popular. The community hasn't been asking to make UW easier for balanced groups. Take your pick.

Problem is, there nerfing of it, or at least trying, is making it harder for a normal non perma team to do it, why the hell anet just cannot change the SF skill to stop it is beyond me, they'd rather make it that NO ONE but a perma team can do it.

Community was, however, claiming that UWSC makes it harder to make balanced UW teams.

Could it be that they are trying to improve peoples ability to pug uw as balanced team and to just dance around SC issue?

What affect has the new update had on the amount of time it takes to do UWSC?

From the interview at PAX at 2:30 Linsey said, "Eight minutes for underworld is way to fast." but in the same interview she points out that Shadow Form allows people to get into groups to play UW.

I am still wondering how this will affect these groups. Will there be a mass exist like when Ursan was nerfed or will players just accept the change and continue to play. Hope ANET has not stuck their foot in it again. Time will tell.

Was there really mass ursan ragequit? How come I did not notice? Ex-ursaners are basically one group identical to group of people who now UWSC, nothing more, nothing less.

There are basically two groups of people who UWSC:

a) is done with GW and just continues to amass wealth out of boredoom and have nothing lese to do. They will likely quit, but frankly, they will not be missed and they would have quit gw long time anyway.

b) is done with GW too and just continues to amass wealth because they are way too addicted to quit and have little else to do. They should quit, but they won't. Instead they will just move on to next farm spot.

c) Is not done with GW but wants to finish up something ... like hom and gwamm title usually. They are unlikely to quit because of "dollar bet fallacy". Instead, they will move on to next farm spot untill they burn out of game or finish up their goal.

So, you see, theese four groups are either irreleveant or nonissue - either people who just waste bw & hoard wealth - not going to be missed, or people who simply will not quit. Especially fifth group which will just carry on as usuall not noticing anything different.

I want to know what this same "community" was doing when DoA required vent and conformity to either searingway or ritway. How about steel wall or b/p? Don't get me wrong I thought requiring vent in PvE (lol) was an all time low but if you want the shineys you suck it up and re-roll or do what is asked to get in a group. I doubt this.
Balanced teams were not used because of efficiency reasons. If SC is nerfed those who were playing in SC will move to places where farming is more efficient. If FoW SC is now more efficient people will play that, else we just get some additional abandoned outposts.

Besides this, why would anyone want to play balanced with PUG nowadays in 'elite areas'? I don't see myself play such areas with complete randoms (inviting or being random in a mainly guild/alliance team is not PUG) except when I have some serious free time at hand.
Seems that after all those years I finally lost my faith in the skill and experience of the average GW PUG player.
And it's not even about speed or efficiency, I really start to doubt that those players are able to finish such areas without gimmic builds, playing as a team instead of playing as individuals who happen to be in a team.

Too bad this also leaves out some good players, I know they are still out there...

Are you trying to say this update makes it easier to form balanced UW pugs?

As long as UWSC, or any other gimmick builds are around, there will never be balanced UW pugs.

yesa escort is still soloable, and wastes too and for all those that thinkyou need soh for wastes you need to think more. and no im not talking about 2 man the quest. you can still solo it and not use soh ... all you need is a longbow.... and d/c does not work anymore at all tried it. but bow trick still does

These four groups are what some like to call customers. Customers that enjoy themselves get other people to become customers. Since GW is a MMO, if new customers log in to see an empty outpost guess what they don't tell their friends about Guild Wars.

For a business to be successful the customer is always releveant and their enjoyment of the game is always and issue.

I can honestly say I have never done a UWSC or FoWSC, when I want to do either I use the heroes off my secound account. UWSC and/or FoWSC affect no one but the people doing it. Killing UWSC is not going to make these people say, "Great now I have to do it the slow way." they will just move on to the next great farm.

Anet please nerf SoHaste now and anything else that they think they can use to make it a speed clear. Create a spell that if the opponent has an enchantment on that it slows them 66%.
