New Halloween Quest Info

Amazing. Our first new content in god knows when, and people complain it's a day late.
Can't wait till tomorrow.

Easy quest usually means worthless reward...just saying. If, big if, there is an end drop and it winds up going for 5k because of a dummied quest chain prepare for epic QQ and lots of "that's it?!?". I think we can agree that filtering out people who can't use an insanely broken bar correctly isn't necessarily a bad thing reward wise.

You don't seem to get my point, people are using the "They wont be daily" quote as proof that they can't release the quests one after another when thats incorrect seeing as they could release them the day after the previous one and it still wouldn't be daily.
|
Also, I'm guessing that since these quests are meant to span the course of the event that they wouldn't space them so as to leave a bunch of free days at the end.

I don't think it's a joke tho, i don't think all the people who do UWSC thinks is a joke, it's the same as raptor farming, a normal farm, just more profitable than others.
Actually, FoW is more profitable than UW (Or at least in my experience).
Also, there WOULD be more people in the start, probably newbies failing at trying it, unless they make the hardest dungeon-type a carebear land for newbies, and a few who success, later there will be made new builds for farming it.
So yeah, they would basically paralyze the whole UW community for what, 4 months?, then they're back again.
Reformed
You're right, and in my opinion they shouldn't have let cons of any type work in there but it is what it is. I didn't bother to test but I bet +hp/+e stuff will not since it looks fixed so maybe this was an oversight. I also don't think someone is going to spend 4k a pop to run every single one of their alts if they are just horrendously bad...stranger things have happened though.
Mr. Undisclosed
The main event (Thorn comes to town) happens on Halloween I think? I don't think they'd keep pumping out quests every other day till nov 2nd.
Neo Nugget
Yep. I'm expecting the 3rd quest tomorrow, and the final quest on Halloween when the Mad King comes. I reckon they'll do something similar if they have new quests for Wintersday.

It wasnt made for farming. People used to go there because it was the toughest challenge in the game.
With major changes alot of people who hasnt been there for a long time might come back to do the new stuff. I would.

They have very few people working on GW1, I just don't see them making huge changes at this point.
I suspect what will actually happen is that in the last quest we will fight and defeat Dhuum but he will have influenced the UW. Either some of his critters will escape into the UW, something with touch or PBAoE that goes through SF, or else something like this: the moment you talk to a reaper you will be under the influence of "the song of Dhuum" - your shadow arts attribute is lowered by 4.
I would not expect anything amazing - sigh.

I never said it had to be "easy". I would just like something a little more straight froward rather than running around the entire UW. There are some pretty intense missions in the game that do not last very long. After 4 campaigns I am kind of sick of the Fed EX type quests. I do enjoy enjoy the events though and I was disappointed for no quest today. Oh well back to TOT Bag farming.

Some old reskinned enemies of Dhuum who's released through this quest chain running around owning perma sins is more likely like you said.

tbh they were working 6 months on it and the content they released so far is very little(compared to the april update which they were doing with 3 ppl for 3 months, now they got 7 ppl and april was six months ago), I'm sure there is more so I wouldn't be surprised by anything. But if there is nothing then... whoop da fooken doo i'm used to it.
yeeeeeeaahh..... FARMIT GRINDIT!!! <3
major changes? you mean:
*removed every consumable from the game except ID kits and salvage kits
*removed every pve skill except signet of capture
*the pve-pvp skill split mechanic is now removed and skills in pve are balanced to pvp
?
the only thing guild wars pve needs.
yeeeeeeaahh..... FARMIT GRINDIT!!! <3

They're filling 7 days with 4 quests, and they probably want the last quest to go live the second to last day. It makes sense for them to space the quests out a bit; at the very least, there's nothing contradictory here, which is what a lot of people seem to think. Use the time, go do CB or farm or just hang out in town and wait for tomorrow. Speaking as someone who really doesn't have huge chunks of time all this week, I'm glad they spaced it out a bit, so I get a chance to play CB in addition to do these quests.

The real shock is how easy the 1st quest is, and then how looooooong the 2nd one is. That and the fact you don't get much of a reward for the 2nd quest is a bit of a piss take.

I didn't even get a single Trans Tonic from my reward ToT bags to replace the 12 I used to do the dang quest in the first place :S

Quote:
It wasn't supposed to be a farm quest, just like Canthan New Year quests.
If they would give you like, 50 ToT bags for it, people would farm it, and why make a quest just so it could ruin economy, even more at this point. |
For 50 ToT bags, this second quest would STILL not be worth farming, PERIOD. This would be 150 ToTs/21 tonics per hour, assuming 20 minute run speed - you can do way better than this simply solo event farming. Not only that, but it's NOT REPEATABLE, so you can only do it on chars that have reached the appropriate outpost...
FWIW: If you have a box using old technology (sub 2GHz proc, sub 1GB RAM, sub GeForce 6), you're just not going to have the power to make it without significant lag/rubberbanding. My old box is a P4 3GHz GF4Ti 512MB, and I would fear having to play with the 5-10FPS in places, and general lag issues...

My point exactly - even when you max speed run it with consumables in 13 minutes, the rewards aren't as good as you'd get doing a standard event farm...
LOL WUT? Uh, didn't you get 15 from the first quest?!? Hehe, I get it, 11 failz! Uh, in just less than 3 hours over the past week, I've farmed 2 ToT stacks. During that same 3 hours of farming, I also got 60 unid golds and ~75K worth of vendor trash/salvage/ink/scrolls/tomes/inscs/mods/etc. For 50 ToT bags, this second quest would STILL not be worth farming, PERIOD. How? This is the first new PvP format since HB. And it is actually interesting and somewhat popular. How is that a failure? Because you don't like PvP?
Edit: Lets not forget the huge amount of AI updates that also occurred with that update. Just because that update didn't include a massive grindish system like the zquests doesn't mean there wasn't content in that update that took a lot of time to make.

Err...guess you don't realize that the quest are available all week. You can still do the first one if you haven't. Honestly they're giving us less time to do these quests instead of more.

Everyone... The quests, again, are not daily. For example, there will be no new quest tomorrow either.
The quests were paced in a particular way, and they were not designed to be daily.

Ugh, as long as the last quest doesnt come out on the last day of the event. That would piss many people off.

thanks Regina, its nice to hear from you,....and nice to know that I can go away tomorrow and not worry about a new quest (though I still have yet to finish the 2nd one---am memorizing the video from one of the previous pages....must be able to finish it once...I'm not that bad)....
so thanks again.
so thanks again.

Can we get a schedule for when the rest of the quests do get released so we can make plans accordingly? These are very limited when they will be available, so I'd like to make sure I'm am able to experience them before they are gone forever. Thanks.

No quest tomorrow means I can spend the whole day racking up a nice CB streak.

Drat, I cleared tomorrow night's calendar to make room for one. Oh well, they come when they come and make a nice change of pace.

It took me five tries because I don't know the underworld and one of the maps I was using to get around was a bit misleading...also lag death to Aatxe - not rubberbanding, but an Aatxe well outside of shout range was hitting me in melee. I couldn't knock it down or turn it friendly.
Once I got past that initial bit, it wasn't too bad. I didn't find the bone pits to be any harder than the rest of the map, which was surprising. Most were easily knocked down pairs, and if there were more than two, I could usually turn everything friendly. I did get a stack of hexes and massive degen twice, but the degen only took me to 100 hps or so. I didn't need to use any consumables other than the tonic needed to take the quest (and five of those, out of many). Probably the most dangerous part was actually dealing with the obsidian behemoths on twin mountains, since I had to time runs and shouts to keep as many as friendly as possible and not get spammed to death by their long range attacks.
Overall, I found it challenging and not too easy, but not as difficult as I expected from this thread.
Yay, gives me time to do this 1-3 more times before the next step.
I do hope the next step is a bit less nerve-wracking.

Not really a fan of the quest lines being spread apart like this, but maybe Anet actually has a reason for it. Maybe.

Regina, I'm pretty sure you can share this... what is the rarity (green, gold, purple, white) of the mad king's guard minipet?
