Now i loggged in and every time i zone to a other map i got 2/3sec black screen on the loading screen of the zone/map

is this a grafisch driver bug ? but i reinstalled a old driver and a new driver 2x
or is it a bugg of Arenanet ?

it seems to be a mixture of windows 7/vista and drivers. both my laptop and desktop (nvidia on the laptop, AMD/ATI on the desktop) shows the same behavior. it doesn't seem to break anything, except Fraps when you are recording. basically, you don't want to continue recording when you zone, or it will crash your computer.

it's probably a windows 7 issue then. unfortunately, there really isn't a fix for it. it's not game breaking, so it shouldn't matter much.

should only be happening while your on a loading screen not during a middle of the game. i believe the cause is when the game changes from low res to hi res.

I had the same problem on Windows 7, but running Guild Wars in Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode solved it for me.

Same problems here in win7pro... r4890 in the desktop, core 2 duo macbook running boot camp 3 for laptop (with some nvidia).... unfortunately playing with the compatibility mode settings does nothing for me.

I also notice the desktop showing up sometimes on zone, it's not always a black screen.

Bumping because I seem to have found a fix. ^^

The compatibility mode changes are half of what you need. The other part is to update directx 9.0c components, vista and win7 do not ship with all the latest extensions. Some other games may have already installed the right components for you, but GW itself doesn't. You can get an updater to grab the components from microsoft.

So in short:

1) Run the above updater to update your dx 9.0c components.
2) Set your game shortcut to run compatibility mode vista sp 2.
