Most likely this...especially if he left mid-battle...but since you said he never even loaded in I'm not sure how it works.
Think of it this way: Your team started with 300% morale and theirs started with 400%. You killed them four times, which means their morale dropped to 340%. You would have needed to put DP on the other team three more times to be considered the winner.

No loaders and lavers count as 1 person who has 60% dp. Yes, it is a "feature." Imagine if you were about to lose an RA match because somebody was about to be killed and the timer was close to zero. Then instead, your team mate left right before they were killed to avoid the death. Your team would "win" because somebody quit to avoid being killed. It is too abuseable to not punish people for having a leaver.

Yep. Keep in mind, you also get exp (and thus gain morale if you have DP) per kill. So killing one guy multiple times means you'll have less DP as well.
That's why if there are 1 kill on each time and time expires, the winner is the team who got a kill last (as they will have less dp because the person who was killed on their team will get the boast from killing the other guy).
