Why don't I see any people??

So I got the free trial for this game, but whenever I leave a town to go do quests or anything, I never see real online players. Is this how Guild Wars is? I clicked on Role-Playing instead of PvP, does that have anything to do with this?

gw is instanced, hence, you won't see any people outside towns.
GW isn't a normal MMORPG, you're supposed to get your party in towns and fight alongside your party whenever out of town.
However, you can add real players to your party in towns and fight with them outside.
Hope this helped ;D

the towns you are in is where people are. When you leave a town you and whoever is in your party load their own game. You only see enemies,NPCs, and the people in your party outside. If you want to form parties you do that in towns.

yeah, you only meet people within towns, whether pve or pvp
