My local game store was selling Triology on sale. Well I bought it. I have a question. I have a GW account that owns all campaigns. Well would it be more profitable to make a new account with the access key? If I add it to my current account, I get 8 character slots I think(which totals to 17 slots). I have 6/9 in use. I'm thinking of creating a new account to make a character and get x2 traveler stuff. I also own another account. It only has Prophecies and EOTN on it.
What should I do?

If it's cheap and you want or need the slots go for it, imo

If you add it to your existig account with all 3 campaigns, you will NOT get additional character slots. But you will get 4 more slots if you add it to the one with Prophecies & EOTN

Make a new Guild Wars account under your NCSoft account. Other wise you lose the new character slots.

If you already have an account with the same campaigns on it then you will get no benefit from adding this to your existing account.
The character slots are tied to the campaigns, so if you already have Factions then you can't add it again and you can't gain the 2 character slots from it.
The best (and only) thing you can do in your situation is to register it as a new account in your name and then you will have two accounts that you can use.

Having an actual, playable second account is very nice. I've got two with all four pieces, a main and a secondary, and a third with Proph and Factions.
My suggestion: add Trilogy to your second account unless there's some convincing reason not to.

My suggestion:
You won't get any extra slots by adding it to your existing full account. You will get more slots if you add it to your Prophecies + EotN account.
So, if you don't mind adding it to your 2nd account, then do that. Otherwise, if you haven't used it yet, I would suggest selling the game/key to someone else.
Note - to those I know who will get excited - it's not against the EULA (or any laws) to sell the game/key. It's against the EULA to sell an account.

If you have an account with the three campaigns on it you will have 8 character slots. The only way to get more char slots is to buy them. Therefore, adding the trilogy to the current account (if it's even possible) will not add char slots. Adding it to the account with prophecies and eotn will add 4 character slots for a total of 8 character slots (presuming you haven't bought extra slots for that account already, which would of course make the total higher by the amount of bought slots).
I agree with others saying that having 2 accounts with all campaigns and eotn is very handy. For example, I have 2 accounts with everything, and on both I have a permasin. This way I can always run myself anywhere I want.
