Alcohol

Hi all, I have a few questions on alcohol

Although I've been playing for 4 years, not every aspect of alcohol is clear to me.
For example, I know there are level 5 and level 1 drinks.
I have a good amount of level 5 drinks (about 350) and the same goes for level 1 (just short of 500).

How would I best go around drinking all these? And all that without 'grinding' this title too much. For example, could I pop a level 5 drink every time I go into town, and not waste any points in the long run?

Thanks in advance.

either:
- drink one lvl 5, wait a minute (hit H and see when you get 1 drunkard point), then drink one lvl 1; continue drinking the lvl 1 after every minute;
- drink lvl 5 alcohols every 3+ minutes (useful if you drink while playing, you can go vq and get some alcohol with you, just drink it every 3 or more minutes and nothing's wasted)

So drinking a level 5 (for example, every 10 minutes, when not paying attention to the time) would be a waste then?

A level 5 alcohol will give you 3 points to your title. If you drink one, and wait for 10 minutes to the next one, nothing is wasted.

alcohol isn't wasted. time is. to maximize effectivness of the drinking process, one should drink a lvl 5 alcohol every 3 minutes. the longer you wait between drinks, the more time for potential drinks is wasted, but after all you can consume them later.

You can waste lvl5 alcohol in 1 way: drinking it too early and not getting 3 minutes added to your counter (example, you drink a lvl5 alcohol, and after 2 minutes you drink another. You just wasted 1 minute of the second alcohol).

You can waste lvl1 alcohol in 2 ways: starting a drinking batch with it. You will waste the first 2 because they won't add to the counter. The second way is like lvl5 alcohol. If you are on lvl4 drunk and you drink 2 lvl1 you will waste the second since you can't go past lvl5.

Of course you can waste lvl5 alcohol by consuming multiple of them within 1 minute but that still counts as drinking it too soon.

This is why I prefer lvl5 alcohol. With lvl1 alcohol you have to watch the counter and make sure you drink 3 every 3 minutes or you'll waste them. With lvl5 alcohol you can just drink one and 5 minutes later drink one again and nothing will be wasted.

Popping lvl 5 ones here and there will not be a waste. what would be wasteful is popping a lvl5 again too soon, drinking only 1 lvl1 alone, or using 3 lvl1 to get drunk enough for the title bar to move.

There are 2 ways to waste minutes using the 5-level drinks: 1. Use another one too early, and 2. Leaving the area you're in too soon after using one (sometimes you will get the minutes anyway, but not often)

For the 1-level drinks, if you use them alone, you need to use 5 to get 3 minutes toward the title. But, if you start with a 5-level drink, you can use a 1-level drink every minute after to keep your drunk level up to where it counts. I do this when hanging out in towns selling stuff, getting groups (PUGing Z-Missions, etc), or hanging out during festivals (Got about 200 minutes this way doign the Mad King Thorn thing this weekend!)

There's a nifty drunkard program available in the community works section. You can set it to beep every 1 or 3 min depending on what lv drink u have

My experience is that you cannot change the timing of lvl-5 drinks by changing the area. The counter simply continues as if you didn't change the area.

Even if you log out while drunk, you get the remaining minutes. I took my last grog too early (I wanted to celebrate it later, but accidently drunk one too much), so I quickly logged my character out with F12 to abort the minute counting. But when I logged back in 2 seconds later, I saw congratulations coming in and had the 3 minutes from my last grog.

I didn't research more about this, since my title was maxed. Perhaps you can speed up the counting by drinking to lvl 5 and logging out and immediately back in. That would be 3 title points every 15 seconds. Never saw anyone doing this or telling about this, so I guess that I encountered only a glitch. Probably more research needed, or it is already done and I didn't found it.

Not (always) true. Sometimes you get extra minutes by mapping, sometimes you don't. Last night I mapped 20sec after drinking a grog and I got 1 minute.

There was some research floating around the forum about 'magic' timing and mapping procedures that would allow you to get a lot of minutes in little time.

Lets make this SIMPLE.

Go to the dollar store and get yourself a 3 minute EGG timer.

Then, when you start playing, drink a LVL 5 drink. Set the timer for 3 minutes. When it goes off, drink three level 1 drinks..set the timer..when it goes off drink 3 lvl 1 drinks... Keep doing this until all your lvl 1's are gone.

If you go to the store or something and come back, drink a lvl 5 and set the timer for 3 minutes, then drink 3 lvl 1 drinks again...set the timer...when the times goes off drink 3 lvl 1 drinks...set the times...repeat

Once all of the lvl 1's are gone, drink ONE lvl 3 and set the timer for 3 minutes...when the timer goes off...drink ONE level 3 drink..set the timer for 3 minutes...when the timer goes off drink ONE lvl 3 drink...rinse and repeat.

If you do the timer thing you can drastically reduce the cost of the title buy purchasing your lvl1 drinks for as little as 75g/minute cause people hate trying to count the minutes out wat6ching the title increase. The timer will give you the prompts so no need to try and remember anything but setting the thing again..another 3 minutes.

lvl3 drinks don't exist anymore but I assume you mean lvl5 drinks.
