Unlocking L.A. during Holliday?

I am unable to unlock L.A. from Elona or factions. From consulate docks with a character that can fairy we can get to the area before entering L.A. but the gate will not open.

I can however fairy to Factions from consulate docks with no problem and the gate there is open. Now in Kaining Center the character needing L.A. receives the message to report to Guardsman Chienpo to pick up the quest chaos in kryta but he does not give it.

Is L.A. locked down during the holidays?

According to an update on here, you might have to recreate your .dat file.

Sounds daft but 1 question -
When you ferry from docks to la are you retaking the la quest after abandoning it - as far as i know soon as you open gate an enter la u have to abandon - this isnt the case with getting to factions.

As for the factions guard - ive never yet managed to get the quest off him except on a factions chr - could be its one of those campaign only quest as nf came out after so in theory - only a canthan chr at the time would need the quest .But i reckon the quest was slightly bugged where it was offered to anyone

To get to LA, you need to have a character in your group that has the ferry quest open. Every veteran Elona character can talk to Mhenlo in the Consulate Docks to transfer his group to the area in front of LA. But someone still needs the ferry quest to be able to talk to the guardsman to make him open the gate.

The ferryman then has to abandon the quest and re-take it in Kamadan, if he wants to ferry again.

Ferrying to Kaineng Center is easier: The gate to Kaineng Center is always open, there is no guard, no need to have a quest in a certain stage.

Alright thx for all the help i don't have the quests for either to ferry but it lets me zone to the areas so that's why i cant get in the gate. The person being ferried was not Canthan born so that must be the reason he cannot receive the quest.

I haven't ferried anyone but I have successfully moved both Nightfall and Factions characters to the other 3 expansions with no problems during the holiday event.

On the day LA was decorated with the Halloween event, i ferried to guys from consulate docks to LA and KC.

After that, they pm'ed me and said they couldn't map to LA so i told them that I will do it again, so I did. We were successful, but when we map back to Kamadan, they said they couldn't use the boat to go to LA. They didn't have any problem going to KC. So, i said i will do it again for the 3rd time. We were able to enter again but when we went back to Kamadan, no boat going to LA.

So the other guy gave up already but the other guy asked me to help get olias which i did. After that, we still couldn't get to LA So, he said maybe his account is bugged.

A day later, I saw the thread posted here.

Same happened to a guildie of mine. No matter how he entered in LA, he wouldn't get the LA icon to show so he couldn't map in.
