Love the variety. Over the years I've played tons of different dagger chains, scythe spikes, turret bars, caster bars, ran, and farmed. Critical Strikes is an absolutely amazing attribute, and it really does allow you to wield any physical weapon with surprising proficiency.

Least favorite aspect(s): oddly enough, they're two of the coolest. The L-O-D style chain leaves much to be desired. It requires a completely dedicated bar and offers no DPS during downtime unless you're spamming (i.e. Moebius). On the other hand, there's nothing quite like seeing a chain fully completed and stuff just drop like rocks. Second, shadow stepping. In PvP, it's potentially skill-less and bypasses good positioning, and in PvE the recharges and effects are too skewed to make the vast majority of shadow steps useful.

I made my first assassin during the Factions preview event thingy. I could choose between a ninja and some weird ghost summoning thing, so I picked the ninja.

1) When I first saw them when Factions came out the idea of being able to play a teleporting ninja as a profession kinda wanted me to try it.

2) Because it's fun being a teleporting ninja.

3) Critical Agility I guess as there's just no reason to not have it unless you're running a spell-based bar or "you-know-what".

4) Least favourite thing about them now is that the whole profession is associated with farming with Shadow Form. I guess that would be the thing I'd like to see changed too.

I been in the game for three years roughly..having all the characters ..loving the caster classes..My Sin was a mule..'Nuf said...Pulled my sin out the closet to see what he could do..Boy was I suprised when in 3 days time I went from Lvl 4 to Lvl 20 ...Playing Mobieus.Shatt/Assualt is vicious..I cry for the critters when they get blind sided by attacks..( What was That ? ) I love Playing the game for the game..Not the Money ..Have mad materials..etc..but all acquired thru playing..even though ppl say tanking is a no no , you have a warrior body blocking..You will Have fun watching everything drop..have a mm or two ..20 vs 1 guarantees mad fun.Still learning the Art of a Sin. .You definitely need to know situational awareness to survive along with your party. Not like casters who do mass damage from afar..Give it a go..at least to tighten up your game play I Believe everyone should play all classes just to know what they can do for or against you
I have KoaBD Title w/ Farm experience..and finished all 4 Games..Dawn

I play my sin nowadays cause it has the things I look for when I make a character in ANY MMO game, SPEED and POWER/DAMAGE, sins in GW got it both. That's how I chose my mage in Knight Online and I was happy, so am I happy in gw, also, they have awesome variety and can use any melee weapon you want with good-great efficiency .

What first attracted you to the class? The fact that it rocked in HB

What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it? I made 3rd place in last MaT and also #20 (in total sin made me nearly 3000k) and my sin has maxed titles

Any favorite skills? Backbreaker<3

What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could?

least favorite aspect...that must be the fact that they never un-nerfed SP sin. There are more OP builds in the running yet they let those excist and dont give us back the build that made sooo many people play Sin.

What first attracted you to the class?

--Just a type of playstyle ive always enjoyed.

What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it?

--I stopped playing them just bc originality was flying out the door. Before though the diversity of builds and playstyles kept me coming back.

Any favorite skills?

--Way of the Assassin, Critical Agility, Exhausting Assault to name a few

What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could?

--Reputation. Sins got no love anywhere unless u were uber pro. I wouldn't change anything.

It's a good profession to use as a storage character.

Assassin's Promise on non-assassin primary profession characters.

Having a damage build with a monks that don't use protection spells or don't use them well enough.

I liked being a glass cannon in PvP. It was all about: step in, kill fast, step out! Now it's just: step in, get "stepped on", step out/die.
What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it?
Nostalgia.
Any favorite skills?
Shadow Prison [currently unviable].
What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could?
Post-Nerf: They're not assassins anymore. I'd at the very least make shadow-stepping viable for assassins again and have the 3/4th second delay apply ONLY TO NON-ASSASSINS. I'd also revert all of SP's attacks back to the way they once were. Black Spider Strike=5e; Black Lotus Strike=Offhand_Attack; HotO would give bonus damage equivalent to pre-nerf days if primary = Assassin.

What first attracted you to the class?

I like classes based on melee DPS and found the Warrior class to be pretty boring, especially outside PvP.Once another MDPS option came out it was a no-brainer for me.

What do you like about it that makes you want to keep playing it?

The variation of builds and playstyles.Teh sexy armor.Having players chase me around and around after tasting dirt or spamming "u suk nubsin" never gets old either.

Any favorite skills?

SoH and AP before the nerfs.Critical Agility.

What is your least favorite aspect of the class? Would you change it if you could?

The implementation into high-tier PvP was pretty awful, went from OP to crap to OP to crap to OP way to many times.Apart from the brief run of sin-split pretty much relegated to the dust bin for GvG.

The generalization and scapegoat mentality of the community in general was also pretty crap, if to be expected.I guess people got tired of hating on wammos.

Yay for good guilds.

So of course when I started guild wars I chose sin... what I would improve? Definitely the shadowsteps. More attack skills as well in critical strikes. Lot's of more ninja-based attacks such as a skill that would shadowstep you between a maximum of 3 targets, dealing 70 damage to each being an elite attack or something. Sound cool? maybe a bit overpowered LOL
Level 1 - Unleash 3 (5*) blink strikes.
Level 2 - Unleash 5 (7*) link strikes.
Level 3 - Unleash 8 (10*) blink strikes.
• Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).
• Interrupts channeling skills of the primary target.
• Each slash deals 150 - 250 damage, with an interval of 0.4 seconds.
• With enough attack speed, Yurnero can attack with his own attack strength while jumping around, in these attacks Yurnero can place buffs and trigger chance effects.
• The slashes can't be avoided by evasion. The normal attacks, however, can. If you can get 1-2 heroes by themselves it will WTF pown them. Of course if this were transplanted to GW...hmm 3*70=210 but that really isn't that far off from Twisting Fangs or Blades of Steel. I think the sin Elite is more used for utility or prerequisite conditions which I guess is alright for the sake of balance. Maybe if there were some diminishing return per attack in a chain then Assassins could have the old Shadow of Haste back lol...

What would I improve? -revert Shadow of Haste to its maintainable function (gave a reason to use Shadow Arts), implement a diminishing return in damage/duration of condition for every attack past 3 in a chain and balance the skills to take into account the diminishing returns, give sins some actual utility in conditional disable/disruptions ala Dchop/Dshot.

Why do I like the class? It is my favorite in AB to get in, get out and dance around my opponents. Shadow Walk still has some mindgame potentials but I really do miss AoD and SoH.

I currently play an assassin, since I have played all other classes I like more through all things I want. That is: legendary guardian and the 4 eotn titles norn/vanguard/asura/deldrimor maxed. My finished classes are (in order): elementalist, necromant, monk, ritualist, mesmer, ranger, warrior. You see I prefer caster and ranged classes. I don't really like melee classes, so assassin came now, then will be dervish. Paragon probably will come last, since I don't associate anything interesting with that class.

I want to see how it feels like playing an assassin and understand the playstyle of other assassin players (which is often driving me nuts, especially if I play the healer).

I strictly play PvE.

What I like about this class: In normal mode a very good damage dealer and somewhat non-caster and also non-warrior playstyle. And you can emulate a barrage ranger with it quite decently, but without energy problems. Very handy in damage-heavy hard mode areas, since otherwise I am Sir Die-A-Lot. And you can play a super effective scythe-fighter, but that is also not for hard mode, where your demand for dp-removals would be too high.

I like the skills Critical Agility and Way of the Assassin.

What I don't like about this class: Half of the skill bar filled up with an attack chain that is in fact one single long attack, if you go with daggers.
Too tedious to do melee in damage-heavy hard mode. If I want to do the frontline, I go as a warrior. If I want to do the mid-/backline, I go as everything else.

I have not yet found the place for my assassin. Jumping and speeding around (for example shadow steps) seems to be fun at first, but brings in fact no additional damage per second and no benefit to my team in the end. Playing speed-clears by drilling myself according to pre-made guides is not for me. It's like playing other people's game, not my own game.

My assassin will probably return to mule status after I am through with her and only do festival quests on Shing Jea island, since that's what I did with her for the last 2 years. Or running people to outposts. It's not that I hate her - it's only that I like other classes better.

The main thing that attrached me to create and play this profession is its fast and interesting gameplay.

I think that the setups you can have that are good for PvE or PvP are interesting. The fast attacking and quick thinking you have to put in keeps me excited and make me want to keep playing.

I dont really have any favourite skills but the skills that got me started are one of the best:
Jagged strike, Fox fangs and Death Blossom.

As ive said in previous questions the fast attacking and fast thinking is the best aspect of an Assassin. I dont think Id change anything in the profession Assassin.

Well...
I looked on the wiki about the classes before i made my first, and the assassin seemed to be in the "middle". high energy, medium armor, caster and melee attributes, and some cool looking armor .
The thing I like about Assassins is that they are able to change "types" of builds, if you would. I could go deadly arts and use some caster skills, shadow arts to tank some, and dagger mastery to unleash damage, and critical strikes revealed the use of different weapon types.
The one thing I don't like about the Assassin is how Anet introduced the shadowsteps. They have waay too long recharge, most have high energy cost, and the fact i have to spec into an attribute i normally wouldn't be using if i'm running a dagger build. (Deadly / Shadow Arts). If I could change anything, it would probably be the functionality and recharge of some shadow step skills. For example, Shadow Prison has the shortest recharge of shadowsteps, and it's still 25 seconds. also the fact is that it costs 10 energy for a measly 1-4 seconds of slower movement on the foe's part. I'd say reduce the recharge of most assassin shadowsteps to about 8-12 seconds, this would allow the Assassin the mobility it needs to be an affective player on the battlefield, both in PvE an PvP.
That's my thought on assassins.

8/12 second recharges on shadowsteps would mean telespikes on frontliners (not just sins) constantly. Sure, for PvE if you want but absolutely unacceptable in PvP.

Derrrrp, forgot about WC, but it is still a sortof long recharge. Shadow steps should be around the recharge time of combo skills, like 6-12 seconds.
EDIT: for the frontliner telespikes, simple solution. "75% Chance of spell failure with Critical strikes 4 or less"
