Hey all, havent been on here in a minute and definitely keep my eye on any news of Gw1 or 2, however the w/ the following im not sure how to read it. More so i was wondering though Anet is like a separate developing house and once a separate entity is it now just NCWEST. I know all bout the merger and what not, follow all this closely but this in particular due to the Aion release and lack of Community commitment has me a bit worried if they [Anet] no longer have the type of control they had on GW1 on GW2. I ll refer to the following

http://kotaku.com/5253802/ncsoft-shi...rship-to-korea

and this particular qoute

Quote:
NCsoft West was formed last September, unifying NC Interactive, NC Europe, NC Austin and ArenaNet under one group based in Seattle.
now none of this was exactly news to me or any of you but what im asking here is if Anet is still its own actual separate entity that will still be handling its game directly or will it have to go thru channels now to see things in their game. This is important to me as following the game, and now playing in Aion and seeing how they have approached the NA/Eu market, if this is true and the shift of control has gone on to the koreans directly then it would bring me to speculate some on different levels especially concerning GW2. The reason for this is there is a community that truly believes that the Koreans taking over NCwest and their handling of Aion is leaving our audience as a second place thought, as well as using short term profiting schemes and such this goes up to and including future launch of GW2. Anyways w/ out the speculations and what not its a concern id feel ... so any feedback would be helpful, im trying to make a conscious consumer decision.

afaik, shortly after the unification martin flew to america.

i don't think we will see gw2 to become aionish. ncsoft had to react on the matter of the crisis and reduced the costs of manpower and established two major groups. the one in korea and the one in the united states. since ncsoft wants to keep a foot in the western market and stay strong in asia, they will probably deliver both kinds of mmo. the gear/level grinder and the innovative one based on the gw franchise.
