When I first started the game, presearing was beautiful. Then, the searing happened -.-

Mine would have to be stepping into Kryta the first time.
After being in generally colourless, slow-paced, depressing-music-lands for the first half of the game, when I stepped into that world of green and jaunty-sounding strings instruments, I was like, "WOW!!! :D:D:D:D" I was just so freaking excited to reach the magical land of Kryta that had been talked about since day one, that I burst when I got there.
I also thought that when I played Factions for the first time and ran out of Shing Jea into those fields. I was amazed by the landscapes in that game.
Also when I got to Vabbi for the first time in Nightfall. It was cooler than what I thought it would be.

back in my starting days of gw, "wow u can change 2nd profession as many times as u want and edit skill points"

GW really is a great looking game but if I had to pick something then probably the first time I played through the Deep. It's not that it's strikingly different from the rest of the Jade Sea (more so when you enter the "Moria" section) but it is pretty visually impressive. The fact that there were now 12 man zones blew my mind too with a sheer volume of foes to match. To this day this is the only elite I always come back to just for the simple pleasure of playing it.

Doing the quest that leads you to Nahpui Quarter and I took the route up the cliff along the water. Beautiful pathway up there... especially considering the stark contrast with the dirty, building crowded city of Kaineng. Shing Jea Island is very beautiful too, but the depth of scenery on that overlook is just amazing.
Zodiac Meteor
The Deep, the area where you take 10 damage while moving. You slowly go down the stairs and I though, this is the stairway to hell. Awesome. The cave entrance I was, "Daaaamn, this really feels like fighting your way into hell." It's the feeling that your super powerful and unstoppable and yet there is something super strong waiting at the end.
All that is missing is the creepy music that gets darker and scarier as you went down.

i've always liked the landscapes in nightfall, especially the sulfurous wastes and vabbi
The Scorpion Knight
Pre-Searing, good times in there when your new. And the Jade Sea, that place just looked pretty amazing. Vanquishing and Cartographer really allows you to see some nice scenery.

When i first looked at the price of an obsidian armor on wiki. I said... wow...

+1 For Jade Sea.. I Played Through Proph With Warrior And A Monk And Was Amazed At The Sheer Size Of The Game Though !

When I first farmed UW with my sin. So much. Fun.

When i realized that there was a place called tombs where you could do HoH. Wow! (lol, about typed "where u could do HA" lol)
KageNoShi
First time going through Urgoz's Warren and just looking around at the scenery, especially in the one death trap room with all the waterfalls was nice to see.. Urgoz himself not so much.
Lux Aeterna
Ascalon and its environs, back in the alpha.
- Red sky
- Exotic unearthly landscape
- Crystals and lightning
- Amg FLASH GARGOYLE don't let it get me
- Tar pits
All in all it felt very prehistoric, and the shiny armor + the glow effects was amazing.
Kryta and especially Maguuma in the later weekends was also amazing.
Impression: GW is prettiest game in existence.
I've yet to see a better looking game.

Probably when my game crashed... and I loaded it up again... and it reconnected me to where I'd been before I crashed. It was a novel experience at the time.
Also, when I learned I could edit my skills and attributes as much as I wanted with no penalty. I was like, "Man, how do shitty game makers like Blizzard even stay in business? ArenaNet is brilliant!"

After a tough fight to get there, and losing people along the way, it was great to finally see our destination. All the warmth and colour...
I mean, granted, there turned out to be the little undead issue. But Kryta is a beautiful country, and finally seeing it after all that slogging through snow and ice was a big "wow" moment for me.
Luminarus
Presearing... I almost quit when the searing happened, but was happy I stuck it through

the first time i reached The Vault that and the The Hall of Heroes has to be some of the most beautiful areas in guild wars
you get to enjoy the scenery in the vault but as far as the hall itself if you "stop to smell the flowers" so to speak you cost your team the win

I would have to say my "wow" moment would be when I first stepped into the burning forest in Sacnoth Valley, doing the Rose Focus quest. That place looks so much more graphically advanced than most, if not all, places in gw.
joshuarodger
the giant statue in the crystal desert. when i saw that from a distance, i was like holy crap that looks awesome then i ran up to it and all of a sudden it wasn't there and had formed that bridge. just thought that was awesome the first time i saw it.
SithLord2064
I would have to say my first "wow" moment was when I walked out of the portal from Ascalon City (in pre) and got my first real look at the game's scenery. It was a total OMG moment. Totally different from Diablo 2 (my only other MMo)
My second real "wow" moment was the first time an ecto dropped for me in UW while i was doing a regular NM clear with 7 guild members. The very first drop was an ecto, and it was all mine. ^_^

^^this and the first time I seen the Minotar / Griffon farm with warrior, a guild mate at the time took me to Elona Reach and proceded to enter the mission, of course I was like lol what just the 2 of us? He told me to wait by the gate, so I did while he ran down the hill, aggroed all the minos, and stood there and killed them all. That was my first time seeing sum1 solo a large group of enemies. That was a wow moment for me.
Coney
I had a WoW moment today, as I was running out to farm 2 more mosses. I thought to myself, when is another better WoW going to come to the MMORGP arena...
MercyfulHate
my real wow moment was when I got my first black dye in presearing in the catacombs. I sold it for 3k in the next 5 min and I thought I was rich..

I was absolutely blown away by pre-searing. It's one of the most well designed, beautiful areas (Especially for a starter area) I've seen in any MMO/MMO-esque game I've ever played.
Watching the cutscene, I didn't really have an idea that the Charr had impacted Ascalon as deeply and terribly as they did.
The second Post loaded... it was a wow moment.
Edit:

This too. For being a burning wasteland, there's a profound beauty in the destruction. The tiny details really make it. I'm especially fond of the tiny embers trickling down from the sky. I hadn't thought of it until I read this post, but, it really is a unique and amazing area.
Levothar Kingdom
My wow moment was when I was wandering through the thicks of maguma jungle into a clearing and seeing the rolling mountains and dense jungle ahead of me to explore.
God I love this game

Pre-searing...The second i hit the searing i quit the game because it just felt so depressing, after a while i came back to it and then i loved kryta....Maguma jungle hit me as boring and from then on it was all lame lol
carbajac
The Shiverpeaks, the song is what kicked it over for me.
Charlie Dayman
Factions was the first storyline I was introduced to. The first "wow" moment I can recall was when I finally made it to the mainland and was so surprised at how the setting looked like Kowloon City:
http://www.muse.lt/wp-content/upload...destroyed1.jpg
Really wasn't expecting that one. Also, some of the monoliths and statues randomly scattered throughout the landscapes.

Rhododendron
Sacnoth Valley & Dalada Uplands. For me it hapened to get there soon after i first ever got to Lion's Arch. Seeing that after Prophecies , was really a big step up in graphics , so it might have altered my view on the rest of the game forever. I was the main course in the menu for mandragors and other stuff for a long time , looking at that forest, mountains and using ctrl+alt+h in first person mode all the time.
mender of bad soles
I have to say my wow moment was stepping into the world of faction guilds.
I had never seen so many players come together for so long, for a common cause, and it really impressed me. Also, the epic war theme was something I really like to this day. the day I realized I truely loved the game more than warcraft was the night I, along with 6 guildies, pulled an all nighter to get Anjekas shrine, which felt like an amazing accomplishment that was a true team effort.
Faction guilds are different entities now, people enter, max, and go back to the real communities they consider themselves a part of. Really sad to see that go, but I still play the faction competitives and AB for fun hoping for something comparable in gw2, although kurz/lux will be gone sadly.

seeing that statue from the sulfurous wastes is pretty awesome too.

"What? You mean I was in a little tiny area of map? This is the real map? It looks like complete crap! I want to go back!"
Probably more or less what every newborn infant is thinking, too.

What made me wow was playing and finding out that power wasn't determined majorly by what items I was wearing. It didn't matter if someone had super ultra badass armor because his stats couldn't carry him! I was overjoyed and for the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed PvP in an MMO.
Of course I should also mention that the game ran so smoothly. I could run everything on high with the exception of AA with my crummy old computer and still get a decent 30 FPS.

Chicken of the Seas
When I was playing the beta and saw a stone summit beast master for the first time, I was thinking, "Holy shit I am so gonna buy this game!"
