Although, I personally liked Factions better I would say go with Nightfall for the Hero reason. With the dwindling player base in my opinion it makes more sense. Nightfall is still fun and I enjoyed it. I just liked the setting in Factions a little better and I like the professions (sin, rit) better than the (derv, para).
I also think Nightfall is maybe a little more complete in the fact it is a little longer and has a maybe a little more re-playability. I can cruise through one side of factions in a weekend pretty easily as the game goes pretty fast so if you choose to purchase it later, it can be completed very quickly with a level 20 toon. Especially if they have a good selection of heroes. Hope that helps

Factions, as you're looking to farm.

The ultimate difference between factions & nightfall can summarized as follows
NF
has heros
DoA access (one of the more lucrative farm locations - Gemsets sell for about 15k atm)
Paragon & Dervish (NOT the BEST solo farming classes in GW)
Sunspear & Lightbringer PvE skills (sunspear skills have utility outside of NF)
Factions
has 3 unique PvP venues
Warrens & Deep Access (NOT the BEST farm location)
Assassin & Ritualist (2 of the Better solo farming classes in GW atm)
Luxon & Kurzik skills (have some utility in all GW games)

thanks for the replies! i went with faction, since i can get heroes from eotn. will try to make an assassin but without the Deadly Paradox that comes from nightfall
Chocobo1
How come you can't get both? The games are very cheap nowdays, I couldn't imagine playing GW without all the campaigns >.<;.

If you already have the campaigns but on seperate accounts I'm fairly sure there is a way to merge accounts together. You might want to look into it.
kaldemeo
would be nice but i don't think it is an option

Its a hard decision. Missing both and you would miss out on the most lucrative farming builds and locations. My friend is in this situation. Efficient permas cant be done, 600/smite missing SoA. A good farm for you since you picked faction could be feathers using spirit spammer in noob area factions or naphui quarter.
