Hi,
I installed GW after a long time not playing, after i installed the original GW I could log in to my account just fine (I didn't try to play), but after I installed Factions and nightfall and tried to log in i got this massage: "A serious Problem has occured that prevents the program from running.." and i could send a report to ArenaNet.
It doesn't look like the usual errors (the ones with the send and don't send, i hope u knwo what i mean).
Can you help me?
Thanks

Did you install Factions and Nightfall to the same directory as Prophecies? They all need to be installed on the same account; ie install Prophecies and then just add the necessary keys for Factions and nightfall.... If you already have all 3 games on your account you can just download the game client from www.guildwarguru.com and not have to install anything by disc.

What I would is uninstall and reinstall. To do this, first uninstall the product. Then re-install with this client: www.guildwars.com/download

Then -image the dat file and run the game.

Thanks for your answers, but i just tried to repare the installation of Nightfall and it works now!
for some reason when i logged in to a character it started downloading like 9000 files, it will take a while...
I heard that this -image thing is supposed to download all the maps, right? but i don't know how I do that, so I'll be happy if you'll explain it to me more clearly.

It sounds to me like you now have multiple bum instllations of GW on your PC, and you think they all work differently. They really don't The Guild Wars client contains ALL GW games available to date that you might not even own. All you need to do is have an account, add keys to the account for the other games, get the access and you now connect to their servers to maintain an instance... to fuel your PC to make polys and textures from the GW.DAT file on your screen to keep you entertained for hours. Pretty simple. Delete all installations of GW you might have, forever. Go to www.guildwars.com/download and download that. Run the setup, let it choose the directory. Let it then install GW. Once it's done (100% done) GW might start running. Close it. Then look for your GW shortcut on your desktop or startmenu. Right click it. At the very end of the "Target" space in the short cut properties, make a space after the last " and put -image. Heres a an example.

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
Run GW with that command. It will now update your client to the very very latest build. Even on a fast connection, it takes hours so do it before bed. If you have a slow connection It might take months. lol.

WHEN ITS DONE..go back to the shortcut and take out the -image, or you will repeat the process over. Once you take it out...start GW and enjoy.
