Can i use assassin in orignal guild wars?

i have the triogly and i would like to use an assassin the first game if possible.

You cannot create an Assassin in Prophecies, but you can start one in Factions and then bring it over to Prophecies once you reach the port city (Kaineng Center). It'll land you in Lion's Arch, which is part of the way through the game.

So yes, you can play through it with an Assassin, though you cannot start with one there.

how long would it take me to get to that point?

2-3 hours?

if your new it could take a few days (playing for 3 hours) depending on how fast you catch on.

Once in LA it could take a while (1 hour or +) to get to AC again, depending on your personal ability.

This right here. It is purely up to how exp'ed/attuned you are at catching on to games.

There is little use to go to Ascalon city - quests before LA are not available to non-prophecies characters (I tried myself...).

Good for title, old times, lulz, and just having fun.

The OP wanted to play the original campaign, perhaps it'd be a good idea to play it from as close to the beginning as possible?
