Why not 'stacks' of Inscriptions/Mods?
Baku_The_Killer
Hi. My post is simple.
We have that: and we have that : but why we can't have that? :
I'm bored of using 2 spaces for the same inscription instead of having them all on 1 space.
I think we should have stackable mods and inscriptions...what you think about it?
IGN: Baku The Killer.
(P.S: Yes, I Photoshoped the 250 Inscription image to help you to make an idea )
(P.S2: Mods, sorry if that's the wrong section.)

I would like them to be stackable, too. The only reason i can think is that they would be too easy to obtain, too common. If they were stackable, now i would have all the inscriptions that i need (the most useful), instead of having to sell them when the storage is full, and a lot of other people too, i think.
However, this doesn't seem a major issue, a lot of inscriptions are already cheap so this wouldn't have a big impact on the game IMHO. Maybe there are also technical reasons that prevent ANet from doing this sort of change.

Been suggested before, try using Search. And to shorten your searching, this idea has been shot down for one simple reason. Not all mods are identical. Take Strength of Honor. You wouldn't be able to stack 15^50 with 14^50, 13^50, etc., and there are only a few mods that have only 1 option. Same reason there isn't a seller for these (NPC). Yes, you will argue that you can stack all the 15^50 and all the 14^50, but there isn't a reason to keep that many mods anyway.
All items that stack have a benefit for having stacks. Materials are used in bulk quantities to craft armor/weapons. Collectibles are asked for in quantities as well. Where are you ever in need of more than 1 mod at the same time?

It's not worth the trouble and shouldn't be necessary.

Whenever you mod multiple weapons at the same time. Duh.
Says you. I personally keep each and every perfect mod I find on my journey through the lands of Tyria. /signed, but has been suggested before. |
And, while it seems like a good, reasonable idea, it all comes down to the bulking issues that Magma mentioned like collectibles and materials being needed in stacks for crafting/trading, as well as the whole "not all inscriptions are the same" thing. Although I do think runes stacking would be a better choice, as those do function more like dyes/rare materials, at least item-wise.

Economic Reasons? Not worth the time? What the hell?
Anet employee goes into database. Selects all single item ID's. Includes the range from max to non max inscriptions and other upgrades as all their own single item IDs. Changes Stackable from 0 to 1. Done.

I would love this my storage gets too full with inscriptions and mods.

cant stack an item that can spawn with random mods.
ie 15^50 cant stack with a 14^50
they would have to write a sacking code for ea mod for ea # in the mod.
who wants to stack 14^50?
this has been suggested before
good job on pics tho :P
instead of making them stackable, why not just make them buyable from a trader ie rare materials trader?
ie 15^50 would be about 1k-1.5k depending on supply(selling to trader/merchant)/demand(buying from trader).
less spam in towns, less storage stress, gold sink. accurate price gauging.

/signed... no reason not to...
Give us this.. or simply more space.
Most of this is a clear example of how Anet can sell extra storage (which is huge fail)
cheers

Each inscription is an item and a value, not a single entry in the database.

I forgot to say that I'm talking about all the Inscriptions/Mods. I mean, stacks of +30Hp for Sword or stacks of +29Hp for Sword...it's still 1 space not 20 for the same item. I got x18 Ench 20% for Axe on a mule, with 18 spaces instead of 1.
Is just an idea, I highly doubt Anet will make that... but is just what I'd love as I stopped buying Gold Unid for the simply reason I have no space for the perfect mods I get.
Thanks for people that /signed. To those that /notsigned... you probably don't play enough that game and don't understand our situation it's not nice see 10 times the same item at Xunlai.

Just my 2 cents here the reason i believe items like these dont stack is for the reason that when you identify the item with an id kit the value you would sell to the merchant is different for every single mod inscription and the like same with runes unlike everything else in the game that is stackable which all have the same numerical value if you were to sell each one to the merchant thats if there sellable :P but yes
/signed for stacking even though its more likely to be alot of trouble for not much gain

And also because, like Damian mentioned, they're just different kinds of items than stackable ones. They have individual properties. I'm all for a trader that buys and sells perfect mods and inscriptions (it must be possible, because runes are like that and there's obviously a rune trader), but I don't think it's feasible to ask for stacking inscriptions, runes, or mods.

You really want to hoard inscriptions because market for them is crap. Pretty much anything that is <1k value is impossible to buy from players or sell it in timely manner and if it is even remotelly usefull for you, you'd better hoard that drop.
So, either mod trader or stacking would actually be useful.
PS: What 'market considerations'? I do not see stackable items suffering in market because they are stackable and can be hoarded, but rather because they are worthless.

If you make insc stackable , then mods should be too .......weapons with same skin , damage ,req and colour should be too , and shields , and staffs bla bla bla .... not needed , not important , therefore /notsigned
