Pain Inverter stacking
WhiteAsIce
Do multiple party members using Pain Inverter on one foe stack?
I didn't think so... I would think that everyone using PI at the same time is a waste. So does PI actually stack on a foe?

no...just one pi cast work..best thing to do is time or watch when foe's bar stops dropping in big chunks...then recast Pi.

no hexes stack; with the exception of certain hexes like life siphon which the foe will only suffer -3 degen, but each member will receive +3 regen.
OoO Rift OoO
thats like saying if you use two conjure nightmares on a foe, it'll have 18 degen
So no

I asked because on some dungeon runs, the runner tells the rest of the party to cast PI at the same time (Ooze Pit and Rragar, for example). When that happened, the boss went down in seconds.

Think about it, 80*8 is 640 health, and if your party members had spirits too, that would add even more.

I think the runner is wrong... If the Boss AoEs, he is going to suffer the damage from PI multiple times in one hit, IF he hits a bunch of people. So I think what is happening is the runner saw multiple -80's above the boss' head from multiple people applying it and got overexcited... the boss is AoE'ing.
Bathal Nasp
Yep, runner is wrong. I usually just wait a couple seconds after everyone casts their PI's all at once, then use my copy.

I'm level 10 asuran, my brother is level 5. If I do PI I see big damage numbers. If he does his after I do mine damage numbers drop. Nope it doesn't stack, and it's important for a low asuran rank not to overwrite it.

No they don't stack, and it's a good idea to decide who's going to use it, in what order, before you attack, so that you avoid overlapping them.

Stacking Pi's would be a helluva exploit. Pi x 8 would be... Just....... "wtfh4xroflpwned" type of thing.
But nah, Pi's do not stack. As Quaker said team synergy is very good to have when using multiple copies of this skill. I'd definatey recommend using Ventrilo/Skype/ect to communicate for this. If you're very experienced at watching the battle field you should actually have no problem chaining Pi onto targets.

Pain inverter certainly doesn't stack.
However, there could be a situation where it's absolutely necessary that Pain inverter be on a specific foe and every extra copy helps? Like, when there are hex removers around or it's important to hit exactly THE big damage dealing skill?

Or when its a boss and your only getting a 5 sec duration max.
Faroth the Huntress
Stacking PI would be about 640 damage per second. As fun as having 5000 something damage done to a single foe at once would be, it is just too much.
Sethellington
if only.
no hexes stack
no hexes stack

Not true, some do. Skills like Assassin's Promise and Life Siphon act like this:
For each person who puts Life Siphon on a foe, that foe suffers ONLY the greatest degen, why all allies that used Life Siphon on a foe obtain their respective regen.
Works like that with all hexes that benefit the person who casted them too (Like energy/health gain on end)

That's not "stacking" - benefits to the people don't stack, each caster gets only the benefit from their own hex.
