For about 6 months I have been using 3-D Analyze to run Guild Wars because it allowed me to play without the need for an updated graphics card. For the last two weeks 3DA hasn't been working. Whenever I try to start Guild Wars with it, I get an error saying this:
A serious error has occurred that prevents the program from continuing to run; however, you can help prevent this error from occuring in the future by reporting the error to ArenaNet. Please press the send button to report this error.
I have already reported the error twice and since nothing has happened, its really getting on my nerves. I can't get to the later areas of Nightfall or GW:EN without 3DA and that is where i spend most of my in-game time. Ideas?
3-D Analyze no longer working

did you make any changes to your computer recently? also, have you tried to run GW without 3DA?
Shrike942
No, I haven't made any changes to my computer. Yes I have run GW without it but as I said before, without 3DA I cannot get to the latter areas of Nightfall or GW:EN.

Did it happen right after an update or out of the blue?
Shrike942
I'm not sure but I guess I can check the wiki on the updates. I don' t think there was an update two weeks ago though.
Edit:I don't believe there were any updates that would mess with me being able to use 3DA.

did you try my more recent fix:

btw, does your computer use GMA 3100 for graphics? if not, you might have to modify one of the files.

I'll try that now thanks.
Edit: I'm going to assume that since it didn't work that I do not have GMA 3100 for graphics. I also have no idea what my graphics is. All I know is that it is the on-board graphics for a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer.

dell inspiron 530 can stand for any number of specifications. you'll need to be more specific. run dxdiag (start->run->dxdiag in XP) and tell me what it says in the display tab.
Shrike942
It says "Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family".
moriz
that means you do have GMA 3100. the fact that it's crashing immediately suggest either a hardware or driver issue. try updating your display drivers from intel's website, and updating directX to the latest redistributable from microsoft.

btw, i've just tested my fix and 3D analyze on my school's lab computer, which uses GMA 3100. it worked flawlessly. this means that the problem is definitely your computer, either hardware or software.
Shrike942
Alright, thanks. I guess i need a new computer then even though this one isn't very old.
moriz
try the things i suggest earlier. i believe this is a software issue of some sort.
