I've scene some people have talked about linking their guildwars account to an arenanet account or nsoft or something? Anyone care to shed some light and provide a link to how to do this thank you.
Also does this need to be done for your hall of monuments to connect your new characters in GW2?

I would advise against doing it. It's a known security risk -- can't change login even if compromised, weaker passwords, additional point of entry. It's also commonly speculated to be an unknown security risk -- some security flaw with NCSoft account is quite probably behind the latest rash of account thefts.
You DO NOT need it to link to GW2.
If, after reading that, you still want to link your account for some reason, go buy something from the in-game store.

Yeah like Chthon I would advise against it.The main reason being that you can't change the NCsoft password, besides that it would also be bad since if you link multiple GW accounts to a NCsoft account and someone breaches your NCsoft account they have bassically have access to all your GW accounts.
I wouldn't link it just for the sake of linking it,if however you want to buy something from the store,I believe you have little choice so you do it in that case.

Ok, so basically its better just to have good password and change it often on your GW account. And by having EOTN and doing HOM I am set for GW2 correct?

Yes,I would assume having more campaigns means more unlocks since you will have protector of cantha, tyria etc
But Eotn and HoM is all you need, the others are extra.

I've had my account linked for 2 years.
Never had an issue.
