guildwars nightfall

Does anyone know how to beat cyndr the wurm in the shiverpeaks quest? I have tried all kinds of tactics. Even tried to hit him with budger blackpowders bombs, that was fine and dandy knocked him out but he comes back if you cannot make it back in time to bomb him. I have been using henchmen as I cannot get any other players to join. I have equipped them with good armor and good skills but no luck! Please if anyone has a easier way or can help please let me know!

The wiki page has a few very good strategies for this -- http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Cyndr
My personal favourite though is taking three touchers, or necros or mesmers with lifestealing or degen. Ignore the whole blowing him up with the carapace thing and just life-steal him to death. A bit of protting and healing from henches and the occasional rez, and it's dead before you know it.

Very simple, take 1 or 2 N or /n heroes with vamp skills... he'll get down pretty fast (cuz u can hit him all the time).

If you're going all henchmen, bring the 2 monks, 2 eles, 2 warrs, and the blood henchman. That should be enough damage to take him down the first time.
Every time I've tried this, I used 3 heroes as well, if only because heroes you can flag separately from henchies, and spreading out the party is vital to avoiding massive AoE damage.

There are really two primary strategies for this:
1.) Take out his armour with the bombs, and then while it's down, hit him with enough damage to kill him. This may take more than one cycle, and his regeneration is not a lot, but he also does a fair bit of damage. Degeneration combined with damage works better on him than damage alone, so consider bring a Mesmer, Necromancer, and/or Ranger who can give him conditions that will reduce his health. If you're doing hero/hench, this is really your only option.
2.) If you have more than one human player, you can have someone (preferably someone with high HP) running bombs to him the whole time to keep his armour consistently low, rather than having everyone stop and do damage. The downside is you lose one damage dealer, but the plus side is that you can get a continuous rhythm going without stops and starts, which may be more efficient.
So you could play around with both of those ideas. The second worked much better for me, but it depends on your team and your style of play.
Another suggestion I would make is to bring something to reduce your DP if you find yourself dying a lot. If you have 60 DP, Cyndr's damage combined with the fire in the area will kill most characters off too fast for them to do any significant damage in a cycle, making the task borderline impossible. If you don't have DP, it's a lot easier to withstand the attacks and get the job done-- so get rid of your DP if you can.
It's a bit tough, so keep trying and don't give up.

Try to do the quest with another human, so you both can run with bombs ( knockdowns are a pain )
If possible bring a spirit spamming rit and Cyndr will be dead in a few seconds when the carapace is down.

The one consistent rule I have found is to bring Protective Spirit. It basically renders him useless. After that, kill at your leisure.
