Spirit's Strength dps rit builds
Kafiri_Mkorogai
I want to roll a rit, but also have something other than a SoS build for when I get bored with that. How does the dps of a dagger or scythe rit with spirit's strength (with aura of holy might with scythe, of course) compare to the likes of a crit scythe assassin, or a scythe warrior? What is your preferred melee dps archetype for a rit?

Unless you are running with a Human Prot Monk, someone with "Save Yourselves", or a dedicated tank, you're going to have a rough time with your 60AL armor. I played around with a SS Scythe build about a year ago and had some fun in lower-level areas, but died constantly in the more challenging areas.
Since then, I've had occasional fun with a Bow, utilizing Needling Shot, Volley, and Triple Shot. Spirits Strength adds more bonus damage than Glass Arrows, so the damage is significant. I've been meaning to play around with my Communing Spirits build on my hero (for use with a Channeling SoS build) and add Sundering Weapon to the hero for Triple Shot fun. Haven't tested if the Weapon Spell ends after three attacks, if not then Aggressive Weapon or another skill is not needed to make SS work. In general, you are far enough back, and can provide good support.

Scythe rit is very much lulz. You are going to have to go with drunken master for an IAS tho, since there isn't really anything good in terms of that in Rit or Derv line. It's much better if you have a friend to give you GDW. You might have to micro prots on yourself tho, since you will be uber squishy.

Spear rit also works quite nicely >:3

Take that Armour of the great dwarf or whatever it's called; then ye not be so squishy.

Monk and/or Necro hero w/ Prot Spirit binded to a hotkey and have fun c-spacing imo.
Spice
as miskav said, spear rits are awsome.

Thanks for the replies so far. It seems that the only real concern is armor, which some folks have noted can be offset in a few ways. How does the damage compare, though, more directly? Like, is a Rt/D dp's > a W/D, A/D, etc.? Or a Rt/a? I ran a Ranger/D, and found the dps to be noticeably lower than on a A/D or W/D, and was curious how good a job SS does in bumping it up to par. Sorry for all of the questions, but I don't have access to my gaming pc this week to test it.

The rit/d build hits over 450 per swing pretty constant. You need something to make you swing faster is all, and energy mgmt is hard to keep up with.
