hello there, this is a real problem with a simple solution.

i constantly see people's threads being closed due to 'early bump' you mods are strict (with rights to be, your guidelines and rules keep forum use fair and keep complience high)
Although with an simple solution you will have a happier outcome for users and less accounts being banned.

why not add a time stating when a thread was / post was created, can be any time zone Central prob being the best. that way everyone knows when they have reached /passed the 24hour bumping allowance.

will stop threads being closed due to accidently posting an hour or two early!

lets here everyone else's views!

many thanks, aslan. (ps. if this is already in place where can i see it?)

Good suggestion! Unfortunately, it cannot be implemented unless you know a really good programmer who will create such a feature for us.
Both the forum template and the system behind it (vBulletin) is developed and supported by outside companies.

We have been working on adding a feature that prevents you from bumping your thread within 24 hours, but so far the function has proven to be bugged (solutions are being sought).

Yes, there is Eragon. Unfortunately, some people seem to have difficulty figuring out that if you bumped you thread at a certain time yesterday, you have to wait until at least the same time today.
Aslan is right that an automated system that simply wouldn't allow you to post before 24 hours have passed would solve these problems.

ahhhh, automated post prevention, i see. but that would put so many hard working sell mods out of work ;-)

Nah, not really Eragon. There's still plenty of other people breaking the other rules.

ahhhh, true ;-) would prolly just lighten the load slightly then, lols would be nice for them to not have to worry about early post bumping when they are are enforcing so many rules as it is i suppose
