Warriors Of The Flaming Fist [WFF]

Me/

So I had this idea of going back to really old farms just for a bit of fun, but I don't really know any

Hopefully this isn't going against forum rules! Can I get a list of which profession to use, where to use it and, if possible, a skill template please?
I just want a bunch of them to go and try for nostalgia, also bear in mind I'll be doing them in NM for kicks.

A couple I already know are:
Hydras (I have no idea about the builds people used to run, some 55 monk variant and I've seen warriors do it)
Trolls - outside droks - w/mo or 55 monk (I can figure those out easy enough)

Help? Will be appreciated, thanks

**Small note to people who might try these builds to farm for cash. You wont get rich doing this.**

Hah, SF is always a fun trip on a double green weekend. My alliance buds usually run more fun builds when we go down there.

However, I'm looking for solo farms

I enjoy doing some old school solo farming as well. Hydras are nice, probably the most profitable. Minotaurs outside of icetooth cave, and ofcourse the trolls outside of droks are fun too. I farm the first two in hard mode, and trolls in nm.

Monk works best for Hydras IMO, but smiting is meh, I actually use fire magic, and it is quite fast. Prot spirit, Healing breeze, Mark of rodgort, pheonix, inferno, Double dragon, balthazars spirit, essense bond. The idea is to keep them burning, and to maximize the effectiveness of Mark of Rodgort by letting it's burning effect last its full duration before reapplying burning by casting another fire spell. Basically, you want to wait 2-3 seconds between each cast to do this. Burning is 7 degen, which is 14 damage per second, times 3 seconds, Mark of Rodgort adds 42 damage to each of your spells as long as you let the burning play out. Use a fire sword to finish up foes by keeping them burning with Mark of Rodgort.

For minotaurs, there are a huge variety of builds which work. I like to have fun trying radically different things. One of my favorites is Prot Spirit, Vigorous Spirit, For Great Justice!, Hundred Bladeds, Frenzy, WhirlWind attack, Strength of Honor, Balthazars Spirit.

I used to farm the trolls with my monk, and it was fast, I use a 600hp build, Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond, Mantra of Resolve, Shield of Judgement, Retribution, vital blessing, Essence Bond, Balthazars spirit. Now a days however, sins are much faster. There are a few things which work. The concept is to use critical agility and critical defense along with way of perfection and critical eye to stay alive. Flashing bladeds is a great elite, along with Jagged Blade->Fox Fangs->Death Blossom. Another option which I really enjoy is Hundred Bladeds->WhirlWind attack, with way of the master for more crits. This one is great because the more trolls you ball up the faster they die, and you will probably never see more numbers from hundred bladeds anywhere else in the game. Enjoy!

Look up the old build stickies on Guru. They'll all have outdated listings. You'll have to sort out which have been nerfed and which are just not worthwhile though.
I'll have a sift through these today, hurrah!

Might have a play with that, I've done plenty with a db/moebius sin before but I'm sure 100b would be a laugh. (Hardly old school though) Oh and the W/N raptor farm makes more numbers

I'm not looking for profit, I'm looking for anyone with a decent knowledge of what used to be THE places to go and farm. Although I've had plenty of input so far.

i farm ice breakers with sf sin in nm , swiftness shadowform and deadly paradox,
glyph of lesser energy radiation field , vipers defense , dash or dark escape, and optional skill

different build can be instead of rad field if you dont have is yo use burning speed and last optional skill fire attunement

bring a zealous scythe of enchanting or zealous daggers of enchanting tho scythe is best

if you spam too much without hitting with your zealous wep you may find it difficult to maintain sf

dont got the map but it the top right corner of talus chute, i start from the ice caves of sorrow

pretty much you look for a mighty grawl wielding the hammer and you take him out
glyph - rad field - vipers defense and degen him out

after you kill the mob you zone into ice dome and zone back out, when you kill the mobs the second run, you can just suicide and let your self respawn at the entrance of ice dome, much faster and quicker, the dp gets worked off easily every run

also the place is pretty good for minor and major runes

the mighty grawls drop ice breaker and they drop it when they wield it 90% of the time

i usually sell them for 8-15k a piece

i rezone at top right corner ice dome and repeat till i have around 5 in ma invent takes approx 4-5 minutes a run

1/2 of the time the zone contains a mighty grawl with one of these cooool hammas

to save time if you dont see a mighty grawl wielding the ice breaker just suicide (only after youve zoned into ice dome before) and rezone

ice breaka -> ids

this is gud farm if u r bored

Sorry to resurrect this thread. Just for kicks I decided to revisit one of my most enjoyable "newbie" farms --> totem axe farming.

I use to do it with my ranger using bow attacks and I would go through a complicated system of pulling the healing life pods away to take them out individually since their healing would overwhelm my attacks.

With Signet of Spirits now available for uber-damage I decided to give that a try instead with much success.

Using a Ranger/Rit I ran this:

Damage Dealers
[Signet of Spirits]
[Bloodsong]
[Vampirism]
[Painful Bond]

Energy
[Siphon Spirit]

Self Heal
[Nightmare Weapon] - or whatever floats your boat, you will mainly be counteracting degeneration from Skales, Spiders, and Wind Riders. [Feel No Pain] helps with the degen and I have tried that with success also.

Running Skills
[Mindbender]
[Dodge] - or whatever you feel comfortable with. Mindbender has a casting time and doesn't reduce damage but lasts a long time, so you can permanently have IMS.

The hardest part is running to where the root behemoths are. You will leave from Ventari Refuge and run past a bunch of centaurs to Reed Bog. You will then run through Reed Bog to the Falls. Both of these runs are very easy. Just check the wiki to familiarize yourself with the maps.

Here's the hardest part. In the Falls, you will run through a gauntlet of a billion spiders and timberland guardians. Wear your highest armor set and shield and run through without stopping. I don't think there are any safe spots until you get past the last guardian (spiders pop up). If you die, just start over at Ventari's.

The other tricky part comes next which is following the correct path to where you need to go. Once you start getting to the trolls, you will take your first right and head toward the collector (there is a caravan wagon camp there). At the wagon, there is a small path that heads north, don't miss it (avoid the skales heading your way). Bear to the left and take the path there. You will run over a log and get to the area where the behemoths are. (Basically after you make that first right, just stay on the left and you will be fine).

OK, you made it! Use the map below to hunt behemoths. Your main threat are skales which you can clear out with your spirits (just cast your spirits and run away or stand your ground if it's a small group). You will also encounter Wind Riders which can hex you to death, so again I would cast spirits and run away. Root Behemoths all will pop 2-3 Life Pods which, while more or less harmless, are aggressive healers. Your best strategy is to place your spirits just outside aggro range and then cast painful bond. If you pop a Life Pod, just take it out first. Your spirits can readily clear all life pods, even a group of 3 (it just takes a while to exhaust their energy to quit healing each other). Following the route on the map should get you 2-3 totem axes per run.

Nothing profitable or anything but I think it's a pretty fun farm if you are like me and have a fetish for green farming. If you die anywhere in the Falls, you will rez back at the beginning and it's brutal to try to run through all the spiders that have already popped, so you probably need to resign. Another thing I used to do before I got comfortable with the run was to bring a full party. I would flag them at the beginning of the first 2 zones (those are very easy runs) and then use the party to fight through the Falls (flag them out of range when you start farming). You will also get lots of plant fibers.
