Email? if so a Email address would help alot, and if i notice the address been legit to anet or plaync i will let you know

EDIT: AHHHH when you enter guild wars.. that is definately by plaync.. unless someone so leet enough as hacked into plaync(which i doubt) no need to panic

If it's not a login announcement report it to areanet, scan your computer (Probably in safe mode), and don't reset your password.

The red text warning announcement at the log in screen is a legitimate warning from ArenaNet.

Looks like somebody finally found the login announcements . 1-0 for Anet with their red text.

Yeah its legit... I got it too.

However, I never seen a red announcement.

i guess red codes it to say (This is serious buisness, do as your fu**ing told) :P

This is unnerving. If my password is unique and not used for anything else, my email untapped, my computer clean, then why is this so urgent?

Again, makes me belief that there's been some breach on their end. And with the recent problems from those who DID change their passwords and got hacked...Id rather stick with the devil I know.

However, I'm not going to run off and start changing passwords...just yet.

the last part does sound suspicious though, doesn't it? it makes me think that someone, somewhere KNOWS that there was a breach...BIG TIME.

well i agree with you Flubber, im not gonna rush to change my password, a hacker could have hacked into it (Highly Doubt it) but ya never know, or someone inside plaync could be doing this, would be nice for Regina to confirm this, if it isnt anything from arenanet, then i seriously would reccomend her looking into it

That is odd, i don't need to access PlayNC to change my password, but to change Email DOES require PlayNC, and i bought all my games from shop not from PlayNC online

yeah but more than likely my plaync is the same password as my guild wars login so.... yeah not the smartest thing

trust me on this. Anet already knows (hence their breaking silence[in poll thread], adding the red text). We will be kept in the dark on the specifics. I'm not gonna speculate nor advise others. I'm just applying common sense. If I get hacked further down the road, I'll know, for sure, not only am I to blame but I can also lay part of the blame on someone else's porch. meaning...I KNOW I didn't give my info out. it was gained...well. I'll leave it at that until the time comes.

If only we could get a confirmation from the big people... Personally, my account is un-hack-able I've NEVER given out info, not even my email address... The email I use for GW is separate from the one I use to message people. so- What's so urgent about this one?

Yep if we get hacked, then we all blame Plaync/Arenanet

and tbh up until recently not many ppl have complained of a account hack...

it's probably not the smartest thing to around announcing this...

You can change it from the character screen. Log into your GW account, and on the selection screen press "Edit account" check the change password box, and you're done. :]
